Got that right Kondorong, The fact is Gambian politicians need to re-evaluate their roles in society.Your priorities are not what you say they are, but rather how you spend your life Starting with the ventures you oversee. The biggest conflict of interest i Observed so far is the The foroyaa saga which if all the mechanisms were in place should not have happened. What i don't understand is the fact that an opposition can diligently run a newspaper at the same time have political ambitions without compromising their reliability.

That my friends i don't think is possible ,A conflict of interest will occur eventually as exhibited with the witchcraft movement and interviews with supposed witches and as of recently The GPU statement regarding Deyda Hydara's Death. The media has it's role and politicians have their roles too, yet once the two collide the outcome never changes .It becomes a mouthpiece, a propaganda Machine.

In Most states there are laws to curb different types of Conflict of interest, to basically stop individuals using their authority and power which eventually is to their advantage and beneficial to them. Starting with presidents all the way to the lowest civil servants ,there should be laws preventing them from benefitting from special favors ,In some instances even simple gifts should not be allowed as long as it may jeopardise their positions ,yet no society is perfect.

The fact is even if no improper act results from it, it can create an appearance of impropriety that can undermine confidence in the conflicted individual or State. I think this is Foroyaa's biggst issue and Halifa needs to prioritize and figure out which direction he is heading .

In general i personally feel that such laws are a necessity but once enacted will be deemed as draconian just like the media laws, yet the benefits outweigh the cost of a political party losing it's source of income. When you have an axe to grind using the wrong tool to sharpen it ,just might end up breaking the surface.

C'mon guys ya'll all know whats up and the fact is if Foroyaa is desperate enough for stories to be carried by PaNderry Days before they publish a story about themselves with the similar substnce, tells you a lot . You have to convince me otherwise.

Am so used to being the bad guy it actually feels like fun ,nowadays . Let me tell ya'll what i have experienced so far. The political opposition in Gambia really never committed itself to try to win power by democratic means,This i can assure you..............................................................Peace

This one is a can of worms. A priority is considered misplaced depending on which side one's bread is buttered.

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.”

Disecting: Conflict of Interest-Misplaced Priorities - By my Moelly. Here we go...

Paragraph 1, since Moelly quotes daily, Daily Observer. Notice how in the middle of the sentence, Moelly "Observes", (in capital letters).
Of course an opposition newspaper will print it's own views and analysis, stupid.

Paragraph 2, no hunted "witch" has ever gave an interview to the media about their craft. We know why...!
The correlation between witches and the murder of Deyda Hydara is ludicrous. Typical Moelies mindset/p.ganda

Paragraph 3&4, special favors, and "simple" gifts trickle down, we all know, from the top-down, most usually from foreign...landing, on a president's lap/desk. Well done Moelly! Quote: "The fact is even if no improper act results from it, it can create an appearance of impropriety that can undermine confidence in the conflicted individual or State. I think this is Foroyaa's biggest issue and Halifa needs to prioritize and figure out which direction he is heading." WT!, special favors, and "simple" gifts, Foroyaa and Halifa's biggest issue? Corny Moelly.

Paragraph 5, You can't have it both ways, Moelly.

Paragraph 6, Moelies don't need convincing, but chaperoning.

Paragraph 7, quote: "The political opposition in Gambia really never committed itself to try to win power by democratic means, This i can assure you".
Then they would have won all the elections, bad guy (clone) Moelly.

A good dissection/analysis though, wasn't it, Moelly?
Doubting our analysis? Then the next phase would be exactly what you're used to, incessant dissections until mission accomplished. My scientists are majored in transforming the clones' mindset into humane values.
Your reply reiterates the need for our further interventions. It's not painfull, and you're a witness to that process.
When has clones cleansing been a crime against humanity, Moelly?
Lucky U,...................................................lol!

Go Moe, Go Moe You hit the nail right on its head!

The oppositions strategy has backfired. As long as you have a newspaper owned by the Leader of the Opposition party. Then you bring the fourth estate into disrepute. Has Foroyaa made its position clear to the International Media that Halifa Sallah has a large financial stake in Foroyaa newspaper. Therefore are these Journalist really Journalists or just NADD writers manipulating the media to spread propoganda?

This strategy has been going on since 2001 when the opposition decided to use the fourth estate as the National Assembly but they forgot to inform the public of that decision. Now who isn't practicing transparency Halifa?

Peace Sister Omega

I personally feel thats exactly what they have done by bringing the fourth estate to disrepute , this may be due to the fact that our system is not very condusive to the opposition, yet it still does not justify utilizing a media house as a mouth piece.
