This maybe the case but whenever I have wanted to get money from a Gambian ATM its "This machine is temporally out of order please try later" and this tends to apply to all the available ATMs at that time,I have yet to be able to get money out of a Gambian ATM.
It would interest me greatly to hear from any poster who has succeded in getting cash from a Gambian ATM

I did. From standard/charter at the corner of traffic lights using my credit card. You must choose one of the weird option when specifying which account i.e. 'universal' or something like that.

But I do not recommend. The service fee is too high and exchange rate is worst. If you withdraw like 2000 dalasi which is about 100 canadian dollars, you are paying like 10 dollar fee plus very bad exchange rate. So 2000 dalasi (approx 100 canadian dollar) will cost you about 120 dollar.

I think the best option is travellers cheque

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.

Standard Charter ATM at Westfield gave no problems to withdrawing 2000 dalasis on Barclaycard. This ATM was used at least five times by different people without any problems at all.

Extra charges (commission plus Chq.handling fee) was around £4 on each 2000dalasis when the barclaycard statement came thru last week.

One of the family was staying in Fajara, each attempt to use Standard Charter Bank ATM at the traffic light junction was out of order.

I remember one saying 2000dalasis was the maximum in 24hrs.
