Is the best time to build BEFORE the raining season or AFTER. I have been advise after ie in September, but my guide says it is best in April then let the rain touch the building before you put a roof on it.He says it strengthens the structure.
I would appreciate some advice.

Hi Bev,
I'd call April 'Well Digging Time' It's the lowest the water table will be and a good time to dig a well.
I would make sure you have a good hardcore base then a membrane, don't lay concrete into wet muddy ground or in very heavy rain or into standing water. Cover it for 24-48 hours.
How about dig your well and build your wall then after the rains build your house.
I don't see how rain can strenghens a concrete waterproof structure but plenty of half built roofless properties not finished that seem to stand up ok year after year slowly being overgrown by plants.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.
Specialization is for insects.

I think finish the base and walls before rain. After the rain finish the building.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices. |

Eve, my advice would be to chip at it little by little. Take it as along term project, at least thats what I am doing. Count me in the club too, Anna! |

These posts are from the melina tree which grows very quickly and are replanted as a crop so the forest is not disturbed but managed,I hope this puts your mind at rest ,how about firewood that is obtained from fine trees that have taken many years to grow and are then turned into firewood and burnt? |
