Besides the "flawed swearing in" of Barack Obama by the Chief Justice Roberts, the near simultaneous collapse of Ted Kennedy (the senior senator from Mass. and Robert Byrd (the senior senator from West Virginia) was the only major mis-step in the historical presidential inauguration. Both senators are ailing, and are the two most senior members of the senate. Byrd has served for 50 years since 1959 (a time when there were few Blacks and women in government-Byrd is believed to have often addressed his senate subcommittee as only "gentlemen" in an apparent lack of recognition of its female members)making him the oldest and the longest serving senator. Although a life-long democrat, Senator Byrd has had a short membership in the Ku Klux Klan during his younger years but has appologized for this many times already. Ted Kennedy, the younger brother of John F. Kennedy of Massachussetts, is the second most senior senator after Robert Byrd. He has served since 1962. Ted Kennedy has been diagnosed of a malignant brain tumor last may and has since gone through a treatment regimen before returning to the senate. His collapse during a senate lunchon with President Obama has been announced to be a seizure that resulted from fatigue. Both men are reported to be okay. Our prayers and thoughts are with these remarkable senators who have made a life-long contribution to the welfare of the people.

Kay, both men are truely champions for the people they represent. I have never passed on an opportunity to listen to Byrd anytime I saw him on c-span. His humour to say the least, is admirable. |

Kayjatta I never used the word murderer as we both are fully aware he could no be convicted of the crime murder
However I can come to my own conclusion with my limited knowledge of the case. So do I think that.... this man who had drank the equilivent of half a bottle of rum before taking charge of a deadly weapon. (the car) who had no bussiness driving (he had no licence ) and despite the protest from his chauffer took off and then when spotting a policeman he reversed back speed off and the rest is history.
He left that girl drowning in that car some say it could have taken an hour as she was trapped in an air pocket, after saving his own skin did he raise the alarm straight away??? Did he heck!!!!!
So in answer to your question id say a murdering coward he should have been tried for manslaughter what say you Kay? |

Manslaughter? Hmm, the family of the woman (and their attorney) refused an autopsy, so we don't really know what happened, do we? |

But didnt Kennedy along with the witnesses give this information at the inquest are you suggestion this is a conspiracy theory Kay
As far as i know there doesnt have to be an autopsy in a cut and dry case there was no suggestion of fowl play just a drunk driver who in order to save his reputation drove at high speed and over shot the bridge. The fact he then left that girl to drown makes him guilty of this terrible crime of wilful neglect or disregard?
Are you saying he had no charges to answer Kay? |

Good grief I dislike that man even more now!!!. Thank you for that link Kay makes uncomfortable reading
'Although driving with an expired license was only a misdemeanor, it did provide the evidence of negligence needed to prove a manslaughter charge in the death of Mary Jo Kopechne.'

The Tragic of the family Kennedy, In Africa some will says juju or evil works is on them. Or like we say Germany (Fluch) What so ever. it not a simply-easy way they went /are going through.
Two brothers were shot, his son had cancer, and his nephew had a deadly accident. And teddy Kennedy, now with a tumor gets sick, had to bury is president ambitions because of an accident in the year 1969. Teddy son Edward is amputees 1973 because of cancer a leg, Son Patrick, a congressional representative, must be treated in 2006 because of medicament dependence... Nephew William Kennedy Smith is accused of rape with his uncle 1991 but acquitted after…. 1984 died Michael’s brother David at a drug overdose. 1999 falls John Kennedy Jr. and his Mrs. Carolyn with an airplane deadly off. 1963 his murdered brother John and 1968 likewise shot Robert. And then the dark days comes again in 1969 as Edward Kennedy steers after a party his car into a river and flees, his companion drowns? That buries his practically prospects to ever become even president. But one stressed as in many US media: Kennedy succeeded it, as a fighter even make own history. And on this combat spirit many create now their hope that Kennedy masters also the challenge cancer.
Ted Kennedy, “An American icon” the last one of the still living famous Kennedy brothers. Physicians had communicated that the 76-yrs senator at a malicious brain tumor suffers a glioma/ gloomy which belongs to the particularly insidious kinds of cancer. Media quoted medical experts with the words, the prospects for Kennedy is “dark”, but the patient appeared confidently nevertheless. With a smile on the face and mostly with raised thumb expressed, That to say am still alive and OK Thus teddy was called icon, as a man like no second in the senate. US media called him “one of the most effective members of the senate in US history”. They all will pass away, but as sticking to the fact. Their name will remains for a long time, positively or negatively.
