It would indeed fee it would indeed.
Even in my family my sister finds it quite acceptable for her teen son to greet his friends and vice versa with 'whatsup me ni*ger'.
I find this word totally unacceptable but we have agreed to disagree on it and believe me we have debated this issue long and hard |

If I found the word TOUBAB "not so nice" as one poster put it,would I have chosen it as my bantaba name ? I am very pleased to see that most posters have discussed this topic with common sense and not been sucked into the politically correct shock and horror mode. |
"Simple is good" & I strongly dislike politics. You cannot defend the indefensible.

Under the Race Relations Act of 2000, we are told , any Pakistani in the UK can consider himself a victim of Racism if he/she percieves these comments to be Racist.
What happens when a member of the royal family break the law is an issue for the British. |

In Germany we would call this 'babys..t' ('Kinderkacke'). I think this boy is just looking for some attention. But it is not our, but the recipient's privilege to define this stupid and racist remark as personally offending or not.

well according to a daily newspaper " the family of Ahmed Raza Khan, the Sandhurst cadet the prince called 'Paki' in a home video, described Harry as a 'coward' for hiding behind an official spokesman and want him to make a personal apology on TV.
Captain Khan's father condemned Harry's comments as a 'disgraceful insult'. Muhammad Yaqoob Khan Abbasi has he is 'hurt and angry' at the comments. He accused the prince of using a 'hate' word, and dismissed his claims that it was not intended in a derogatory manner.
And under the race relations act if you perceive any comment as racist, then it must be fully investigated by the police..although I am not so sure what happens under "military law", Primeminister brown said on Tv this morning that he feels that because harry has made an apology the issue should be dropped. |

All of this was 3 years ago and I would like to think that Harry might have matured a bit since then. But who knows?! I wouldnt want their life. Everything they say and do under inspection.
I don't think it is acceptable for a white person to call a Pakistani person paki. What Pakistani youth call each other is up to them! Paki usually is meant in a bad way. It is also used against lots of asian people, many of whom are NOT pakistan and NOT Muslim.
I was quite depressed at work today. Most people thought it was politcial correctness gone mad and nothing wrong with it. What hope is there when supposedly educated teachers think that. I was angry and said so!
We are supposed to be working for a more accepting world and more cultural tolerance and understanding. As a teacher firmly committed to that, the word Paki is not part of my language.

Have you ever heard that you cant believe all you read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And i dont think they interviewed all british people and I dont think you know all british people either.
and to be honest with those kind of sweeping statements you are as arrogant as Prince Harry!
"Racial discrimination, or the treatment of one or more races in an unfair and inferior manner, sadly still exists across the United Kingdom today. Though there are laws that make racism and racial discrimination illegal in some situations, some individuals and organisations insist on treating individuals of certain races as inferior."

This is true if the comments were directed at them they can make an official complaint and press charges and have this investigated by the police etc. However they can make a complaint to be investigated which is does not result in arrest and I think this has happened some community groups have lodged complaints.
Incidentally Ahmed Raza Khan has not lodged a complaint and was fully aware of the existence of this footage 3 years ago. |

Well, it is hard knowing all British people, even the queen or any past or recent Prime Ministers will not lay claim over such gigantic claim.
But does it take full knowledge of all British people to pick character traits? Up to this day, there is nothing to deny the existence of British hospitality. In other cases, the golden footprints of that vanishing "British Gentleman" is highly visible day and night.
One may not see everything around you but being able to pick where the eyes level.
Creole man say: "Na poor we poor, but we no craze wo!"
Surely there is no sweeping statement, neither a fallacy of hasty conclusion, but shared views of diverse observers.
