try icelolly.com apollo travel, olympic holidays. if i go it is looking like £350 for 7 days leaving 30th jan. I called gambia experience and they did say they would price match anything i found, so I will be looking into that a bit more, some of the other companies offer 20 kilos of luggage compared to 15kgs by GE, that could be the deciding factor for me.
also other little things add up, is the inlfught meal included or could i opt out and save money decisions

Going at the end of March with Thomas Cook and yes, they do have the 20k allowance but reading the small print I see that this includes up to 5k hand luggage @ 1 piece per person!
Have been reading on the Dutch/Gambia forum that folk from the Netherlands and Belgium seem to be promoting travelling from the UK as a cheaper option?! |

I'm going back again at the beginning of April and can't wait ... counting the days already. I fly from Bristol and can pay an extra £39 for a package that include 10 kilos extra luggage which makes 30 k plus 5 kilo hand luggage. To be honest, I can't manage much more!
I find it very hard not to go, although I take your point Jambo about saving the money I spend travelling and using it to help more families. But, I too, have the need to be there!! |

That's worse than Ryanair, hold plus hand luggage (15+10kgs).
If I can't find something all-in for £200ish I'm not going, so listen up Thos Cook, either flog me your unsold seats at that price or fly empty!
Mind you, would consider paying a bit more if it meant avoiding that flea-hole, the Badala Park. |

Formby...you pay your money and take your choice. You cant expect 5 star for £200! Badala is fine. In a great location and friendly staff. Palm Beach is ok too..straight on the beach. Neither 5 star.... but fine for a week in the sun in a developing country. |

I've stayed at a few budget places and Badala Park is the worst filth pit in Gambia. It's a dreadful location as well, unless you specifically visit Gambia to stay by petrol stations. I wouldn't go there for £20 let alone £200. But thanks for all the info on what's fine for developing countries, I'd never have guessed! |

I recommend you Ginnack Island if you like quite place, beach, no bumpster and being in a small village. You can also cross to Senegalese village by just walking.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices. |
