Your Excess Lengthy
State House
Banjul, Gambia

Dear You and Yours,

On 22 July 1994, you and your lot decided to seize power without judicious mandate. You felt the previous regime overstayed in power and complained about corruption. You are now overstaying and certainly no less corrupt.

Gambian people in the majority will not choose the forceful way of seizing political power as you and your gang did in July 1994.

You cried about the need for change. Gambians want to ask if you now despise or afraid of change. You have let the nation down in many ways. You are ready to kill and maim anyone who refuses to sing your praise. Have you forgotten that this seat is for rotating occupancy?

It is time you play fair and step down in peace. You are not the most able and most willing to rule this good country. Step down if you are sincere. Stop driving Gambians to extremes.

Until the day you get packing or forced to do so, you will be reminded in the most civil accord at preferred intervals.

Enjoy your vanishing times.

Very interesting views karamba. Kaani's point is valid here. Mr President is too big headed to listen to anyone. Do you observe that man closely?

Mavaric,

Sounds good idea dropping the letter on the VP airspace. Though they have by now accessed the information. With so many 22 July members, Green Boys, NIA, and Professor Fan Club rings reading Bantaba they would have done what they do best.

The trouble they have is one of excess. They have so much information flowing with nobody analysing for gainful purpose. All they do is feed, and keep feeding the professor. He also gets angry to the point of fuming insults. What a drama!!

The problem is, majority of Gambians support Jammeh and there is no alternative. In my opinion, it does not matter if jammeh goes, because the alternative may not be any better than him. Nations deserve what politicians they got because, jammeh is the reflection of Gambian society. No? Jammeh is very smart and he should be given credit to keep Gambia without major internal conflict.

Your ideas are great and your critism may be valid. Until your voice is majority, I don't see any change if Jammeh is replaced today.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.

Turk,

There is point of departure. Jammeh being smart or dull is not material. Gambia, like any country in this world does not deserve one person clinging on power for life.

Get it clear that this is no mere criticism of Jammeh's thick skin. He made some serious promises and now lives failing them. He needs to be reminded.

It is not also an accurate assessment that majority of Gambians prefer Jammeh. Far from that, he is simply exploiting a vulnerable population. Any amount of cheating is normal for him. Sadly, even some very clever people are easily baffled that Gambians prefer Jammeh.

Come again? Last time I checked Jammeh was Gambian, not marsian, and he is the son of the Gambian nations.

Karamba

You are absolutely right that Gambia, like any other country, always deserve new ideas, leaders. And there is nothing wrong about your critism about him.

My focus was mostly about Gambians in General.

Many Gambians are not interested in or knowledgeable about how the government works and what the expectations should be. My experience in Gambia, mostly people live on abroad like to talk about the subjects. Or very small percentage of elite/businessman. Many people are too busy about daily survival stuff, they don't really care about the government affairs.

Many people don't know better. I have many relatives in Gambia, they are poor, their road is bad. When I talk to them about the situation, they are not interested in to improve things. Many says, 'we are poor country', blah blah.

Many others have government jobs or some kind of opportunities from Jammeh regime wants to keep the status quo.

I insist that my assessment that majority of Gambians prefer Jammeh is correct. Unless the demand come from the masses, the small percentage of people, like yourself who really have good points, have too high expectations.

Turk,

Point taken. Your observation about a tiny minority standing up against Jammeh's tyranny and deception is saleable. Back to the root cause now. It was not Jammeh's business to rob the nation for reasons he advanced only to turn around and replicate the same or worse scheme in awkward fashion and manner. He lied to the nation and now continues top level deception. It takes long but the truth will triumph.

To agree with you about a minority as you put it is no surrender for defeat. With time, that minority will rise in number and deception by Jammeh or any group of political bandits will not sustain.

It is encouraging to know that the way of cheats and deceptors will one day phase out. Jammeh and all those playing around him should be ashame of insisting on wrong doing and claiming to be popular. It is wrong and deserves exposure.

If it takes fewer people to embrace justice that does not spell any pride for criminals in their majority.

There you go again, bro KARAMBA. Jammeh is still very well if you ask most of us. We believe in democracy and until pure democratic norms and values removes Jammeh, I remain humble to my noble book that gave him his last two mandate.

Bread Man,

What is not true about the contents of this letter to His Excess Lengthy? He promised a two years transition then tricked Gambians by claiming that it was the Council of Elders who impressed on him to contest elections. Even during that formality of a transition, he engaged in concrete pillar work traded as development.

Next the stage-managed election came. From that time on, the cheating machine sets in active motion. Electoral Commission!!

Tell us more then Bread Man.

Don't you agree that your man needs packing now after such awful overstay of self welcome? We are about decency and fair play.
