Happy Eid-ul Adha in Advance
As it stands, all indications are that Eid-ul Adha (Feast of sacrifice) will be held on Monday December 8th 2008. Yamal Arafat (Day of standing ) is Sunday December 7th 2008. According to the Quranic story in its glorious chapters with emphasis, the Prophet Ebraheem (PBUH) was tested in a dream. The dream was that he should sacrifice his only son (Ismaeel-PBUH) by slaughtering. Both Ebraheem (kalilul lah- friend of God) and Ismaeel (PBUH) agreed to the wisdom dream. As the time for slaughtering clocks zero, God Almighty instructed Gibreel (AS) to bring on them the glad tidings of a ram, in replacement to slaughtering Ismaeel (PBUH.) The same Quran also taught us of the fight between two brothers (sons to Adam -PBUH) at the beginning of creation who fought over their beautiful was-to-be-wife to one of them. During the tussle, one of them gave as sacrifice a Ram, which God later decended down to spare Ismaeel's life. In rememberance of the trial, feast of sacrifice became binding on Muslims. That's why it is factual that Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) message was a confirmation of what was sent before him.
Today's word of terror.
All muslims should condemn terror. Terror is wrong no matter who commits it.
I take this opportunity to wish all muslims a happy feast of sacrifice. I equally pray for peace, harmony, love and mutual co-existence.
