A sad announcement.
two weeks ago a Gambian passed away in Wakehield U.K. he is married to an English lady. We at the Gambian Association in Coventry were contacted for help to transport the body back to the Gambia. this year alone, we have taken part in transporting three (3) bodies back to the Gambia. the expenses is not easy. they are fellow Gambians who don't live in our city or even being part of our assocaition. we take part to assist on the basis of humanity and our Gambianess.
anyone who can spare a few pounds should try and help in the process of transporting the body.
the late man's name is Noperie Sowe or Daliue sowe. you can make your donations at halifax bank. account name S. Marena , sort code 110216, account number 00681877.
two people from our assocaition have visited Gambians in our city for their personal assistance. we too will contribute our little quota, so help generously. any amount will go a long way. just indicate the money is for Noperie. u can contact this number for details 07748246222.
thanks

Sad to hear this. Is the english lady not able to pay?
How much does it cost?
Does the UK have any social funds that would contribute to this? Any charities?

Where is he from in Gambia? Can anyone there help?

Just ideas?

I wish you success in his repatriation.

sorry to here about the lady's problem, but i don't think bank account details should be posted on an open web site where anyone can use them ( not everyone is honest)

Is this the ladies bank account details? They should definately NOT be online. I thought it was the BANK setting up an account for donations.

Can this be clarified?

It is normal for Gambian diasporans to raise funds in such cases no matter whether a person has insurance or not.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends.

Thanks every one for your concerns. The family couldn't afford the expenditure that is why external bodies were contacted. If there was an insurance, they wouldn't contact outsiders. the account number in secured. this is the account of the lady coordinating the efforts. all that is needed now is little assistence here and there. today, our committee will hold an emmergeny meeting at 3pm to see how much is been raised in our city and what our assocaition can add to that. death is never expected, this is why people cannot be ready for it in many cases. the man was a healthy fellow but sadly he fell. this is life.
the total cost sometimes runs into £3000 plus. some funeral parlows undertake the transportation and payments later made by installments, but that process has to be guaranteed by an assocaition or a solicitor. many other Gambians are making their little donations, hopefully it will be ok.

Alhamdulilah, (praise to God) the body of the late noperi was transported to the Gambia. may Allah accept the donations of every single person who contributed towards the expenses.
