'Officers identified a numbers of farms being run by Chinese gangsters who produce herbal cannabis which is then sold by groups of men originally from Gambia.'

I find it very interesting that the Cannabis grown by Chinese gangsters on English farms sold by Gambians give Gambians bad reputation in Scotland whiles the rest is brushed aside. Is this racism or criminality...just wondering

That's a very valid point, Janko! I'm not sure if it's because the Chinese communities in Scotland have been here so long that the relatively new phenomenon of West African communities here in Edinburgh at least equals news to local reporters!
It's only been in the past 5 or 6 years that Edinburgh seems to have been 'discovered' by those tired of London living. When arriving in the UK, it seems like most immigrants settle (often with friends or family) near Gatwick and/or Heathrow airports. Some travel further north to Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham but you're looking at an additional 3+ hours in the train from there to reach my home city. |
