FODAY KUNDA WARD COUNCILOR PASSES AWAY; TWO BY-ELECTIONS LOOMING

The Councilor of Foday Kunda ward in the Wuli East District of the Upper River Region, Mr. Yaya Kanteh has died.
According to reliable information received from Wuli Mureh Kunda where Mr. Kanteh hails from, the councilor died of a terminal illness, which has been plaguing him for over two years now. Mr. Kanteh who stood for the ruling APRC party in the last council elections, defeated Mr. Dinding Jarra, the opposition NADD candidate by a small margin of just above a 100 votes.
The death of Mr. Kanteh obviously leaves two council by-elections looming in the URR Region including the pending Sandu by election slated for October this year.
Mr. Kanteh's demise is yet to be made public by the relevant authorities or the IEC.
