I do not agree with the nonsense that's recently transpired, but the two faced attitude of some here is so evident.

No one has the right to judge anyone regardless of race, colour or creed. No one has the right to condemn someone because of their sex, age or appearance fat or thin, ugly, beautiful or whatever other insults have banded about.

On this public forum everyone that has agreed to bide by the rules and regs .

So why is it that certain parties can launch onslaughts on some posters, but when others respond or do the same they're attacked with widespread condemnation

Why is that some can use offensive Language without their post being edited or removed While others it seems have been.

Why can some have total disregard for the original posting and carry on on a tangent while other posts although have a similar thread are removed or the poster asked 'to stay on thread'

Its a shame that some posters are hell bent on attacking people for the sake of attacking it makes no sense.

I was once told that a discussion is an exchange of knowledge; an argument an exchange of ignorance. Go figure

"White people and a turk" that is correct. To tell you the truth I dont see turks as white. I see them as asian. But if you feel white then go ahead.

It is not that I care, as I am comfortable with me. My individuality is more important than my race. But let me give you some background so, you are enlightened about us little bid.

You may be correct that turks are come from asia. Turks come from asia. So do hungarians who are relatives of turks? Huns were turkic led by attilla hun, the famous barbarian attacks. And they settle in Europe.

The people who live in Turkey at the moment have connection to the turks who live in central asia and china. During the beginning of 1000, they start migrating/invading asia minor, the land the citizens of turkey live at the moment. As they are pushing towards asia minor, the previous owner of land mixed with them. There are some oriental looking turks but mostly turks mixed with greeks, armenians, kurds. So, the people living in Turkey are mixed of greeks, armeninas, kurds. During the 600 years of ottoman ruling that also ruled ukrain, most of the balkans, the people in turkey mixed with the people of balkan. So the people in turkey have european, white DNA with the asian DNA.

But, who cares about whiteness anyway. In gambia being not 100 percent toubab is very practical.

I enjoy all the gossip about toubabs when gambian confess about what they think about them when they realize that i am not 'pure toubab'. lol

oh bev. I knew you always liked me and thanks for the compliments. Don't mind anna, she is just jelous that we have good relationship. She disclose her heart the other day with a private email, but i said I am with another girl.

Anna

you made important point. While turks have white in them, they are not pure white like other european nations. They are mixed. European, asian and middleastern. That is common problem turks are face. They are neither accepted by europeans, not middleastern. They are stuck between.

But they are like Italians. The coincidence of being in Europe is immaterial to the southern Italians who are moors by another name.

There's history. But the Lombardians were in London from 13th century. Bankers.

Turk, dream on - i never 'disclosed my heart' in a private mail to you ! Don't i just know that you are with another girl - two girls even, let's not forget the lovely Fatoumata! I know where i am not needed..... Besides, i am happy in my own 'mixed relationship'.
But, it is good to hear you say i 'made an important point'. Have to tell you: it's the Moroccans that behave in a racist way towards my partner, never the Turks (and there are quite a lot of them around here as well). I would love to visit Turkey, but we can't. My partner is not allowed to go there, since it is not a Schengen-country .

Never mind, Anna, maybe once Turkey is fully integrated into the EU ... maybe treat yourself to a long weekend in Istanbul - that city is fabulous and (to me) even more romantic than Paris Certainly a jewel in the Turkish crown!

when my good gambian friend goes home to his family even his own family dont believe him so how can they believe me a TWO-BOB... percieved super-rich ...

I am not excusing your cab driver BUT you have to try and remember YOU ARE SUPER RICH compared with most Gambian citizens, who have nothing and struggle for survival, this is a fact, there is also an inbuilt streak in MOST Gambians that ,you are white give me more, and more etc,buy me a car so I can be a taxi driver and make money, you have heard all this stuff I am sure. There are also Gambians who are VERY rich, how I dont know, but they fail miserably to give to the poor,OK not completly true maybe, there are cases of factories who donate small items to customs police etc. There are also white people who have been totally ripped of by Gambians who have the uncanny knack of gaining one's enthusium for "projects",most of which if you sit down and think about them are total non starters. Most of the shopkeepers and those doing quite nicely thank you in Gambia are foreigners. Why should this be,I suggest that it is the inbuilt culture of MOST Gambians that God will provide,so I do not need to do anything myself.Gambians find the concept of gratitude for gifts employment, whatever hard to understand. ( I am in my trench with my tin hat on now, take aim FIRE!)

Opps... just noticed its page 13 of this topic and its the 13th of the month

you upset everyone and offer little or nothing.you slag off all things "whitey" without the slightest explantion of why their feelings are not worthy or justified. you sound perfectly awful.
so, perhaps you should disappear again, as your appearance has only resulted in acrimony, worthless in origin and purpose, and your assumption that it is ok to needle everyone and demean their contributions as short of action or heat are just pompous and ignorant.
there you are, babs. how's that for some "azz-kissing, you are so right" stuff.

Jammin,I see you follow the postings on bantaba very closely maybe LURKER has changed his views since he posted his piece on 30th September 2008 ,! you probably cannot bring yourself to discuss the latest postings here by "whiteys" or should that be "whities" because they shouldn't be posting here or have any interest in The Gambia.
