I have been watching (non) developments with this company and have contacted them a few times to find out when they are going to operate, prices etc. I have been told July then August a colleague was told September.
Today I have been forwarded this snippet of information about this company has anyone else heard anything?
"I am sure this is a non-airline I have trawled through the EUREC/WHOIS systems to find out who is behind this site and they have been involved with several similar websites for example www.onedotair.com/visionair If you go into this site you will find the same white bird logo on the tail fins of the planes depicted and if you look at the career sections of Intercontinentaland Onedotair amazingly they both have exactly the same vacancies in exactly the same order !! This is because they have been "lifted" from a legitmate site. In all the press releases back in May the CEO was named as Henry Ogunyemi but Fridays Nigerian Tribune claims that Mustapha Njie of TAF Holdings is the CEO! And that the inaugural flight would be flown Lagos-Banjul yesterday 26th July Can anyone in Gambia say if this happened and more importantly whose plane was used Intercontinental have no planes registered to them.At best this is an attempt to float an airline from the finance raised from pre paid fares."

okayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy next installment ,
This just seems to get more and more confusing.
The first flight was suppose to have been Saturday 26th July it never materialised.
I e- mailed the company and was told it should Be this Saturday 2nd August. However there is still no price structure in place. That's despite the 1st CEO saying the flights will commence from June 15th!!!
They did reiterate that Banjul/UK prices will be displayed in September online.
Furthermore they are neither registered with the international air transport association or have a Operators license as of yet and no one at either Gatwick or Heathrow can shed any light on the situation. I'm waiting for the Gambia Civil Aviation Authority to respond to my enquirys and I will keep you posted. |

Should something sound dubious within Africa’s airline, shipping, diamonds, companies, drugs etc., you should search for Viktor Bout & his other alias or Richard T. Hines, a Washington lobbyist involved with Yaya – two names older members here will remember well as associates of the goverment. Google them!! |

Hiz, Could this be Continental Airlines that you heard about back in July?
This from The Point
http://thepoint.gm/africa/gambia/article/2008/8/21/new-airline-promises-revolution-in-service Snippet.
The perpetual difficulties facing travelers by air in the sub-region, and The Gambia in particular, will soon be a thing of the past with the coming of Inter Continental Airways into the country’s aviation industry. |

The very same one Toubab102 , its very exciting as I thought this was dead and buried but obviously the powers that be want this soap opera to continue.
Although i'm very concerned about their carbon footprint as it was supposed to have landed (according to their own website ) on the 10th of August but has been circling the sky until (according to the point) landing on the 16th August!!!!
Hmmm as you uncovered this snippet of information before i had my forensic set out of the loft this now makes you my crime busting companion (sorry!!!) I cant think of any female sleuth's that had a sidekick...Batgirl, wonderwoman even Miss Marples did it alone does this mean I now have to take on a male Persona??? |
