Just yesterday i was asking the shopkeeper at the African shop from Ghana,if he had any? Surprisingly he doen't know it existed all he knew was the normal colanuts which he was selling anyway.

I got some from Brixton market and Dalston too.If you are in that area try those locations Madiss.

This thread is getting funny now. I live just couple of miles from the Ghanian store and surprisingly his kola/bitter kola is always fresh, but I am a fan of malta not kola. I also eat a lot of palm oil/butter...

I have been having a bad cough for a few days. It is good to know that it does have some antibiotic effects. However, I am surprised to know it had so much "other" benefits! In any case, it is available at some local store near where i live, so I will try it and see if it does indeed have "other" effects.

Kola nut (Cola) is a genus of about 125 species of trees native to the tropical rainforests of Africa, classified in the family Malvaceae, subfamily Sterculioideae (or treated in the separate family Sterculiaceae). It is related to the South American genus Theobroma (Cacao). They are evergreen trees, growing to 20 m tall, with glossy ovoid leaves up to 30 cm long.
