RAINBOW

Hanging so beautiful
I wonder what you are made of
Two heavenly beings
High up in the sky

Twins but one a bit too shy
Hovering in the sky
Behind the twain, though
Is a dim display
Deemed ; prismatic light shows
Cast to seeing eyes
As skylight beauties

A sign of hope perhaps
That rain would come
So we can till the soil
And earn a living

Kids were told
They were two beautiful children
A boy and a girl
Of the same parentage
Who fell in love with each other
That being taboo
Thus not sanctioned by the ancients
So they chose to elope
Making love in a boat
That a foul wind blew
Capsizing the vessel
Drowning together
Their souls on rising up
Hang in the skies
The male nonchalant
The female a bit shy
Appear as we see them
A punishment for their sins

Thanks bro!

I see this Rainbow poem. It is filled with mementoes; nolstalgia if you like, of that time you spent together with some one so close like that, as in love -so blind like others will put love. May Almighty God forgive you for sins you mentioned (If any?), engulfing in love -spirit of sharing joy.

It reminds of this Nigerian movie titled, "First Love!" First love is the bomb. It is just that...

haaaaaaa!

Indeed it is about love, this one though borders on the obscene attraction between a man and his sister. The norms both ancient and current do not permit this to happen, Love knowing no boundaries permeated this fabric of their societal norms and in their mutual infatuation, love etc they fled and consummated their desires. That done a foul wind made their boat to capsize , here the
the underlying ethos is that the act was thus punished.Their souls though;were raised up and in the form rainbows appear to the people alive once in a while as a lesson to them. This was the subject of a fairy tale recounted to me by my late aunt,as kids bed time story.Bless her and may Allah grant her a heavenly repose .
