There is an excellent debate going on in Turkey at the moment. The conservative Justice and Development Party had 47 percent of vote. Tayyib form the government, They elect the president from the same party. But the top court presecutors wants to ban the party because of secularism.

Arguements:

- According to EU, no party can be banned if they don't promote violance.
- Turkey accomplishes democracy, because the court has no fear and demand the governing party and the president to be banned.
- Others say, juristocracy, where the courts go over Executive and Legislative power, that is a abuse of power.

How can it be related? Can/should top court take any move against the Government in Gambia?

Further, how do you balance legislative, executive and courts.

Turk thanks for the invitation to participate but I have no knowlegde whatever of your topic and have no interest in politics as all politicians everywhere have no interest in the people they are supposed to serve their only interest is in themselves this applies to politicians in the whole world, they all should try some work and realise how much interference their meddling causes the everyday man.

I don't know if that is a complement or not I am a person of few words, I believe in simple things without frills, I think that sometimes too many words can confuse the issue being discussed and cause it to be sidelined,I like facts and not fluff.

This is the sort of thing I mean:

Press Assoc. - 25 minutes agoGiles Chichester has resigned as leader of David Cameron's Conservative Euro MPs after breaking European Parliament rules on political expenses.

He threw in the towel after facing an ultimatum from Mr Cameron to justify channelling more than £400,000 in staff allowances to a family business of which he is a paid director.

Mr Chichester stayed on as a Tory MEP, but stepped down from the top job to limit embarrassment to Mr Cameron - who had asked him only three months ago to clean up Tory MEP allowances in the wake of a scandal at Westminster over MP Derek Conway.

In a statement, the Conservative Party said Mr Chichester stepped down after chairman Caroline Spelman asked him to provide a full explanation of the arrangements put in place to fund his staff.

Mr Chichester chose to step down with immediate effect to prepare his report to the European Parliament authorities, said the party.

Mr Cameron said: "Giles Chichester is right to stand down as leader of our MEPs to prepare a full explanation of how his office is funded.

"Just as I expect our MPs to adhere to the highest standards, so must our MEPs.

"The tax-paying public have a right to know how their money is being spent and politicians have a duty to ensure it is spent properly."

Deputy leader Philip Bushill-Matthews will take over as acting leader.

Toubab1020. How come you so eagerly want us to regard you as a cynical person?!?.
Cynical = despise the human nature, hard-bitten, indifferent to others opinion. Good heavens, surely you are not that kind of person!! On the contrary, always awaiting opinions from everybody. Your own comments are mostly quite humorous, sometimes very realistic, yes, cynical, never.

Toubab1020, were you fishing for compliments ??
Aha, you hijacked the topic to see how many fans you have.........
I always like you comments because they have that something that i would call typically British (sorry, perhaps you prefer it when i say 'English'): understatement.

Now, back to business: What are your ideas about Executive, Legislative and the courts in Turkey (like you i don't trust 'politrickers' amd abuse of power)?
