It would probably work better if leighdirect had a website and not just a page showing under construction please call back later!

at this stage in the game of gambian and econmoics i would suggest Western Union, because it will be insured, and you can do it online.

may i comment? western union charges a very high commission and gives you a rubbish rate as far as i know. you lose out loads.
there was a posting on here by ? santanfara.last year some time. he gave the mobile of a friend of his who is in leicester and transfers money at the same rate as bayba used to with slightly less commission than bayba used to take. i used them a few times and they were fine. you will need to sear on his postings listings for that entry, but it worked ok. we used to transfer with an hour or two and then it was picked up on kairaba.

To send money transfer online with Western Union didn“t run as smoothly as I expected. Yesterday I registered my 3rd transfer and it then was refused. I had to call Western Union“s office and was asked a lot of questions. They then told me that every customer has after two online transfers to send in a photocopy of id-card to their bank in Austria. Though they admitted that they have failed to ask me to send the copy, they still refused. I just have to wait for the registered letter from the bank and then produce my id-card which, they told, is a procedure of two weeks.
This is very annoying and seems to me completely unnecessary as they already have my personal code number and by that are able to identify me. A picture of me doesn“t add anything, in case I am not already wanted by the police.

Is it a crime to send money to someone in need?

It's all about money laundering and funding terriost organisations (thats what they tell us anyway!)but all governments everywhere want to know who you know and what you are doing with your money,(and why havn't you paid tax on this!)and what the people you send money to are doing, so there is a paper trial in this free society where paper is becoming old fasioned (save the trees please brother!)such as the internet,no paper ,how can we tell what people are doing, yes friends,BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING ! am I being paranoid, cynical, believe in conspiricy theories or what!
Just my opionion of these modern times.

It would have helped if Western Union put this on there website, but I believe that you could open up an account with them if you are sending money regularly.

toubab1020, it most likely is about money laundering as you said but why then only online transfers? If I go to a Western Union agent instead, I could easily fake my name and phone number, they don“t ask for ID.
Or I might better ask Western Union!

For whatever reason (bearing in mind that I am a cynic etc!)I still think its about paper trails and governments wanting to keep track of everything, yes even helping people who have nothing recieving money from their friends.
