The Dalai Lama is coming to Nottingham in May.

I am very excited because I have just got a ticket to go to the weekend event.

With all that is happening in Tibet and the olympics in China I think it is a very interesting time to be looking at buddhism.

If you google Dalai lama nottingham you can get more info.

I'm sure he will get an overwhelming welcome if he is allowed to travel.

Hope you give us a posting after the event.

it will be interesting if you tell what you know about buhdism.

I am learning about Buddhism because I have to teach it this term to my Special needs pupils. Quite a challenge!

I will write more about what I have found out at the weekend.

I have been interested in it for a long time and read some of the Dalai Lamas teachings. It is similar to humanism and quakerism in many ways....but then different in lots of ways too!

I am trying to teach my class to meditate this week....wish me luck!

The Dalai lama:

bev,

where have you been all this time?

As far as I can imagine, Tibetans will get theirs soon also. I support Independence for all. Other nations or people that cannot give others independence are acting inhumane.

Long live Tibet!!!
Long live the Dalai Lama.

I just like the name: Dalai Lama.

Dalton, I wish the same for Tibet and Dalai Lama...but sadly enough, it looks like Tibet will be sucrificed, because of the economic power of china, by all countries who could put pressure on china. It will be a struggle between economics and the humanity, lets hope humanity wins. Long live Tibet and Dalai Lama!

Thanks Inez!

It is a very honest observation.

Well, well....malcolm-x said it right that the oppressor will never give it up just like that.
