Yes it sound so, however I think they are just trying to change from left hand to right ones. Remembers that is habits shows of the superpowers again, meanly another traps for the peace. What I see here is more likely in 18 centuries conference in Berlin! and from there on, they still doesnt(wants)find any solutions to that areas conflicts. This areas has a long histories of political show arena beyond even Osmanian era. It was just like vulcano, being quit but soon or late will show what it is. |

I am sceptical too. It looks as if now the Serbian minority in Kosovo is starting to make trouble.
My brother-in-law, an army officer, stayed in Kosovo for half a year. What he told after his return made me believe that most people in this area are a little bit mad. Sorry for being biased, but I have no other word for this narrowminded fanatism from both sides. |

| Well said, Serenata! I know that it perhaps wasn't as evil (well, there was no 'ethnic cleansing' but still lots of violence, killing and maiming) but look how long it has taken for some sort of peace to be brought about in Northern Ireland .... I fear that this is just the beginning of yet another bloody chapter with(controversial, I know!) yet again religion in the centre. |

i suppose the Irish (northern)and scots etc can declare independence too now.
the irony is that 40 yrs ago, the British were in the same position as Serbia when Ian Smith unilaterally declared Rhodesia (Zimbabwe)independent.

Right, MeMe. Northern Ireland went a very, very long and bitter way to peace, and nobody knows how long it lasts though the situation seems to be stable now. Belgium is in the danger to break to pieces. This week 'arte' had an interesting documentary about the situation in Belgium. Thanks God the Belgians are not (yet) violent.
Who needs an atomized Europe? Surely not the Europeans. Maybe a really united Europe is a frightening idea for certain so-called superpowers. Divide et impera...
To me Kosovo looks like a US protectorate. The USA strongly favored an 'independent' Kosovo. Another European atom... |
