i stayed home today throughout ,the few times i venture out was only to pick my chids from school. my wife travel for the day .i have look after the chids. when she return this evening just after 8pm, she immeadiately send me to buy some take away for her. i duely oblige like a man should. on my way ,i met a group of christain preachers by a shop. it is absoulutely cold out side. but this people were actively talking to people.
when i emmerge, they swamp on me. a black young lady and a middle age white lady. i was politely greeted .the white lady first asked me, do you believe in God? i said ofcourse i do. she said ,have a leaf let. i took it politely. the black lady now asked me ,what religion do you belong to? i said to her ,you guess. she said muslim. i said yes. i have a visible beard and a muslim hat. now they handed me another leaflet. the first leaflet is title HEARTBEAT CHRISTIAN CENTRE .THE MESSAGE IS live music, friendship and hope. then the addres is below.
the second leaflet is title I ASKED JESUS ''how much do you love me?'' HE ANSWERED ''this much'' AND he stretched out his arms and died.
then we got talking. for a minute i forgot about my wife's diner. they asked whether i believe that jesus is the son of God? i said no.then they asked me why? i said why should God have a son in the first place? they said because he love humanity. i said he love humanity so much he kill his son for us ungrateful people? they said yes. i said but it doesn't make sense to me.
then they handed me another leaflet. this time it is a big leaflet. the title is called THE PASSION OF CHRIST. BELOW IT IS WRITTEN true or false? then the words see the film and decide for yourself.

then our conversation start to dwindle .i told them ,it is cold and i can't stand outside for long but time permitting i will visit them in there church for a good chat.
why is a film being use for missionery campaign? what film is this ? i heard of a mel gibson film that accused the jews of killing jesus .is that the same film ? any one here who watched that film?
my wife did got her diner but after a while.

Santanfara, the movie 'The Passion of the Christ', made by Mel Gibson, is a rather bloody affair. I would skip it if i were you. What the people you met while picking up your wife's dinner were talking about is 'The Passion of Christ', really a period on the calender of the Christian church having to do with the suffering of Jesus, i.e. the time after the betrayal by Judas in Gethsemane until His crucifixtion. This is actually this time of the year when Lent is almost starting and we are going towards Easter. Perhaps you know that on Good Friday the death of Jesus on the cross is 'celebrated' (the Christians celebrate His dying for the sins of mankind), and with Easter His resurrection is celebrated. Numerous books have been written with this title (Passion of Christ), so if you were planning to go to the library i would recommend one of these books rather than this very gruesome movie.

Santanfara, it is a very bloody film and it is subtitled in Aramaic, old hebrew language, if you are into films then yes okay watch, if you are christian it gives a different slant on our beginnings.

Sorry Mansasulu, i saw just now that Michael Moore's film is called 'Sicko' (thought you were implying that a movie about the suffering of Jesus would be 'sicko' which would give Santanfara pleasure). Sorry, won't happen again!

anna, i think Mansasulu was taliing about micheal moore doc Sicko, and not the passion of christ. I am sure he would not be so disrespectful. At least that is how i read it.
is that correct mansasulu

Why would "the suffering of jesus would be sicko" give santa pleasure?

diaspora! Too many Chiefs and Very Few Indians.

Halifa Salah: PDOIS is however realistic. It is fully aware that the Gambian voters are yet to reach a level of political consciousness that they rely on to vote on the basis of Principles, policies and programmes and practices.

Beats me, he probably won't! But i thought that was what Mansasulu implied ('...you should watch sicko. You will like it').
Turk, i didn't read carefully. I made a mistake and i apologised. That's it.
Gibson's film 'The Passion of The Christ' can make you sick, though. Yuck, too much blood and spit and whatnot.
