Raleigh is a hideaway for ex PPP oficials and old disgruntled state employee's. Am suprised none of them received a crown for being the best fabricators of 2007. In the process of trying to get a hard on just remember they are destroying the lives of average Gambians who only want to stay in their country and play a role in national development. They should consider that and try to figure out a better way of providing neccessary services instead of spreading wild fires.

Moe, I have the same opinion about these people. They can't hide for ever. One day we shall se who was right. Remember I am against the publications without proofs that these socalled journalist do. I am not suprised that people of the same feathers give them credit. In my opinion it is indeed a cheap one. They could have done better. |

Alhassan a grown up man should be opinionated and sophisticated. We should avoid slander and defaming others when there is no evidence to back it up with. hear say does not justify anything. We all know what Jammehs's failures are and that should be the point of focus and trying to improve that anything less than that is nonsense..........................Peace |

Moe, While it is unequivocal that APRC has succeeded in infrastructural development, the regime has failed miserably in human rights, upholding the rule of law and transparency. One good thing the online papers are doing is exposing the regime’s weaknesses. The online bogglers are not the enemies of the state; the state should address the failures that bogglers are pointing out. If and when the state fixes its failures, then and only then will progressive minded Gambians unite against rumor mongering bogglers. If the news/rumors turn out to be true what choice do the people have? If there were honest Gambians working in the APRC administration they should have pointed this out long time ago. The administration is full of self serving intellectuals. The technocrats are either scared or looking after their own interest. If know a better way to report the failures of the APRC regime please go ahead a show us, you will be my hero.

ebou4th, Where were you when we red news of Edward Signateh being arrested and remanded. When it was posted on this forum that Foday Makalo is dead and burried. Sometimes you people in the Us who have no real contact with home seem to spread bad news. I have a bunch of misinformation ad interpeitation from these online newspapers. They have faild by reporting untruth and rumors. Moe's critics are justified. |

Alassan, Some of the rumors and gossip are unfounded, but some of the rumors/breaking news turns out to be true. In fact Freedom reported Edward's dismissal about a week before the Point and the Observer reported it. I do not have time or the inclination to dig for all the stories that turn out to be true. You are cherry picking the facts to defend your position, but I know cannot tell me everything on online about the Gambia is false. If Diaspora in the U.S who in your opinion do not have real contacts in the Gambia spread bad news, why don’t you give us the good news? The fact of the matter is that the current administration does not have a good record in when it comes to human rights; Gambians are lingering in jail without trial, Gambians disappear without questions asked, media houses get burnt or shut down without any investigation. Who is going to give the Diaspora a non politically correct report? My point big brother is that while the online bogglers have their weakness, they are serving a purpose; the newspapers back home have to be politically correct in everything they write. While I agree with you that some of the stories are way out of line, there are stories that turn out to be true. These bogglers have an agenda and they are new at the trade. It is up to the reader to take the good with the bad. Finally, unless something better comes around, Gambians will keep turning to bogglers for news and information.

No ebou4th the problem is Gambians love gossip and rumour mongering. We graduated with phd's in destroying each other and selling each other out to the higgest bidder just like our forefathers during slavery. The worst thing in my mind that ever happened to a changing Gambia are the so called online newspapers and foolish half baked intellectuals online. Freedom towers and hovers over them all.
What's sad is even Bocarr sey am pretty sure is confused at this juncture as what to believe now. Why are they not asking Bocarr sey why he decided to work for Jammeh until he got fired.
He didn't retire deliberately and am pretty sure Pa nderry has a past of the same historical background.
Not only that they hate themselves , they hate everyone including you and me. You could be Bala Gaye and Omar Khan and Nennneh, Swaebou . Do you actually believe in all this rhetoric bullcrap they are saying http://www.freedomnewspaper.com/ If at all they have any evidence substantiate it. what the hell is "I have some documents on you" where the hell are they. You don't like or feel sorry for Bala so provide the evidence thats my take on that.
Basically what you are telling me Ebou4th is you believe in breaking the law to achieve your ultimate desires is that right?. If they want Jammeh he is at state house go home and do something about it. But don't try to destroy every fabric of your society since they seem to be the easy targets.
2007 has brought a lot of changes including this Kodak moment http://www.observer.gm/. A picture speaks a thousand words, Tell me Jammeh does not have respect for the old man. He actually bows for him showing total respect for the old man. Reconcilliation is the only way forward for Gambia. Stop the hatred....................Peace

Moe, I do not get where you going with this question but I will let you clarify it: "Basically what you are telling me Ebou4th is you believe in breaking the law to achieve your ultimate desires is that right?." I know some of the old school have issues due to the fact that they lost their positions, they have an agenda just like the Daily Observer that you refer me to. I do not believe everything I read on the Observer because it is a propaganda machinery for the ruling party just like Freedom and other online bloggers are propaganda machines for the exiled opposition. I do not think the online bogglers have the highest standards but they are providing a service and a different point of view. If the current administration improves its human rights record, follow the rule of law and become transparent, no one will pay the bogglers attention. As long as Gambians linger in jail without trial, Gambians disappear without questions asked, media houses get burnt or shut down without any investigation, Gambians will keep writing. My point is this; as long as there is dirty laundry some Gambians will make it a point of duty to expose it. Have a good weekend!

I never said read the observer , i just wanted you to see the kodak moment. If you feel like calling rumour mongering providing a service go right ahead thats your prerogative. If they want dirty laundry atleast wait till they put the clothes on. Clean clothes that are not worn yet are not considered dirty .............................Peace |

Let us use this story as a test case, since you believe all bloggers do is rumor mongering watch and see how this story unfolds.

Something is terribly wrong with you ebou4th . I think a good samaritan already gave you the answer you are yearning for.
Lol.. this is confusing me.. I read this story on freedom website.. but what I find odd is that I met Edu at Sheraton Hotel's car park this wednesday as he made his way to the conference hall. We shook hands & snapped a picture..., i dont know when this story broke.. but i can post my picture with him 2 evenings ago.. no bruises, just a smiling calm man & me with a grin....Mavaric |

Apperently something is wrong with everyone who shares a different point. All I asked was to watch how the story unfolds, before you start shouting insults take the time to watch how the story unfolds. Can you handle that? |
