Fellow Compatriots,
Here is a poll. I thought Bantaba is such a live interactive environment which is why many subscribed to it. Further, it is not only our gallant admins that make up bantaba but the readers and contributors. It is true further that people are accorded the opportunity to post by themselves, and to use any pen name they chose to use. That just makes every person the one you want to be: a saint or a sinner; a teacher or a student; a reader or a contributor; friendly or unfriendly; open to others or not some; a distracter or a promoter, and et cetera. Further, postings are at will based on your leisure time you allocated to interact with others in good spirit in the forum. I am sure even those that are in disagreement will attest to that fact.
The reason why I am threading this here is to humbly ask my fellow contributors and readers, as to whether my little contribution here is valuable. Of course going by feedback, I realized it is, but not enough at that. My life is a very simple one, but time and again there seems to be some strings that just push one to either act on impulse or debate harshly based on thrown spears that deserve nothing but repulsive blows. In that vein, what choice does any have other than protect your integrity and sovereignty by all means necessary, especially if you realized such demeaning efforts are geared towards intentionally getting you scraped.
While thanking everyone here including those that I had disagreements with for interactive debates, I hereby put it to the floor now. Should the vote here reflect I stay at Gainako just like the many other newspaper associates, I am ready to do just that. It saddened me that I have to come out this way, but I just felt it gets too much sometimes, and not that I cannot defend myself or my ideology, it is just that those that choose to do what they do have an agenda which time and again proves nothing but unknown agenda. I am a man who chooses by my self to do what I do honestly and with love, concern and great passion, just like anybody else’s choice to be the man you want to be.
Perhaps, at this point, it would be humble on this Friday to renew my commitment to debate mildly while it is mild to all contributors including those that shares different opinions with me. I always regret using harsh language after getting push into it. I am sure I am not the only one in these shoes. But debating must go with accuracy, respect, importance, humbleness and a spirit to share without selfishness. You cannot say you will annoy one and expect that the person you are annoying will not revenge. This must be done without seeking attention, name or fame. It must be true in the blood veins. It must be a sacrifice you chose to undergo. It must a way of life for you, a tradition or better still a dream you have that you are trying to accomplish.
On that note, I humbly put forward the following debate, you can choose to endorse it openly or by mail, and be rest assured there won’t be anything held against you. I wish you all whatever good you wish for yourselves in the spirit of diversity, tolerance and acceptance. I thank all those that shared political views with me and I continue to bond with them forever as long as the established trust of bond is not broken.
Respectfully submitted, Dalton.
1. Dalton, stay with us in Bantaba. Your postings are fine. I like them a lot.
2. Dalton, Stay at Gainako and be a reader in Bantaba. You can still moderately share your thoughts once in a while.
3. Dalton, your postings here are too many. Post little and just follow the atmosphere like the many others.
4. Dalton, Your political life turns me off. Keep it to yourself. We are tired of your commentaries.
5. Dalton, your postings irritates me. I will appreciate it if you don’t post here at all.

My little brother you seem to be taking a step too far. We are all in the crusade to make The Gambia our homeland a better place. Its like an illustrious African once put it, there is no easy work to freedom. To get the food ready and delicious we must stand the heat of the kitchen. Resorting to this is tantamount to towel throwing. I have crossed swords with you before and thereafter made the peace, why? Because of what the Bantanba means to me and The Gambia. Momodou may have underrate the strength of this outlet from the onset, but he will agree with me that it has transcended all the booundaries of peaceful march towards a better Gambia and a btter world. A world and The Gambia where all will live in peace progress and prosperity. Where the truth shall always abide coupled with unconditional love.
You and many other contributors out there give the bantanba its live line or daily blood supply. So for the sake of our beloved Gambia please stay on. We have become friends in cyber-space albeit we have not seen each other physically. So stay on. |

In fewer words to put it: STAY ON!! There are bound to be disagreements. That is the beauty of it. Don't just let the other party(ies) draw your person in the ring. Simple as that. There may be one Dalton1 housing thousand and one good issues. If any other person(s) stop/s you then you have surrendered authority to that/those person(s). Being on Gainako and Bantaba one and the same time is simply an extension of your territory of exchange. Do not limit yourself because someone else wants you to do that. Widen your scope up to the moon if you can (laugh). |

What is this? A high school fan club. Since when do a grown man need permission to exercise his right to free speech? I think the choice is yours...make the call. Why should any one answer those questions for you? I guess you need validation...need your ego massaged huh. Well though tough luck. |

Dalton, we've all had our run-ins with other members here - I must have missed the one that's obviously pushed you too far! My advice would be to leave reading posts on this site for at least a week and then you can come back feeling less inclined to take the bait when some tries to bully you into falling for his/her nonsense again
I'm also a great believer of what goes around, comes around (even in cyber space)so watch out all you detractors out there .... |

Hi Bro. why all that confusion to us! please keep rolling and there should not be a barriers so long you respects the rule of the Bantaba and i so far see you as conducted to it. Don't get trapped in favour of your hunters. Here are many folks which means at the same time with too many interesting and so i like the Bantaba for leaning more, never the less there most be some reputable which some has assumed but some not because the absence of decorous . I personal votes for your staying and please do not forgot your humbleness for the interest of those empty bucket out there while still standing under the rain. there are some who's interest has nothing to do with the fact that is writing down and will try byallmeans with heavy barriers. yes to sundry mind since we grows eclectic way in different House but heed to the others too most be welcomed.
so please stay and bring up your allotment here since you are entitled to it. Happy new year to all the members as well as to the Admins. Peace. |

Compatriots,
Thanks a lot! I laughed while I read the incoming comments, for I wasn’t gone anywhere. I only asked to see a feedback, thus far, it humbled me greatly. Let us all continue what we started while it is inline with clean spirit. Those that thread with mildness with me deserve my mildness. Obviously, if my little quota is appreciated like I appreciate the many of you genuine others, I am not to betray that trust. As the time rolls, time will always be the master to the truth. If so, I am already on the move with my usual sincere and clean-hearted spirit. It makes me shy further that I cannot promise the admins or the contributors here that I won’t get hot on a distracter again. If I was able to promise them that, I would do anything to keep it, but if I do, I am afraid that I will break that part of it especially where pushed to the corner irresponsibly and with arrogance by anyone. In addition, it even makes me shy further after I equate the whip’s justice, because I am dearly married to this forum and its genuine contributors. My love and respect for the admins and genuine contributors here knows no bounds. After we have being here for years now, almost everyone is familiar with the other’s agenda or goal. It is our individual contributions done constructively that are appreciated. But further, probably everyone reads the threads as arguments start. It is at that point where one gets excessively frustrated, and where one does, and then it is the equated whip with all its might. That whip with whatever many lashes are attached to it. It is all human infallibility. Humbly to put it “When the going get tough, the tough get going.” I am sure it is the wish of the forum moderators that a community lives in peace and harmony. Therefore to them, I say thank you always, needless to say.
May Almighty God protect us from every evil omen or its related vices. May Almighty God purify us from the heart’s diseases. May Almighty God make us truthful and sincere in what we do. May Almighty suffice us with our daily bread. (Amen!)
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Dr. King Jnr.
Once again, I wish you all whatever instincts you wish your yourselves and fellow human beings.
Humbly submitted, Dalton. |

Bronx,
I share your sentiments! Who gives a rat's behind if somebody decides to leave or stay? I guess, some of us need a massage of our darn ego once in a while.
As for me, although quite busy with other commitments, I care less whether you stay or take a hike for we all need a break at times!

Dr. Thomas
It humbled me greatly. As you noted, so let my quota flourish in Bantaba Cyber space and on the pages of Gainako like the hundred others here. That is the spirit of a living forum. I am happy to hear your feedback. You too keep it flowing in bantaba while there is time for you.
quote: Appreciation is a wonderful thing. It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.
Voltaire.
Jamba, Omega & Ramou.
You are all welcome to join the debate about Jammeh's baby naming. Some rams and bulls are being slaughtered. Oops! The 'Jamboree' is historic. How come you abondoned Jany.....it is another form of 'massage' for you Omega.
But thanks all, I appreciate all the comments while they are factual without embargo. It helps to truly show the level of our mentalities and the way we all think and perceive matters with or without maturity. That inturn makes us all individuals with a difference. I have had enough "massage" though from my wife, and on my e-mails from hundreds of others. Still I yearn for it honestly with humbleness from others that share my opinions, while it is a positive accomplishment, just like I give to others when there is such a need. It gives courage and hope. I am sure everyone likes the massage. For goodness sake, I will take a 'massage' because it feels good. Apply it like sugar on my body. It is termed "Jambandoh" in mandinka, because the tree supplied with Jambandoh grows fine. If I don't take a massage, what else belongs to me Jambo or Omega? Not any sarcastic part. That's why I will take the massage instead. I am sure both of you will agree that the 'massage' is good, and it should be my first choice.
Omega, doesn't your Gambian spouse say thank you when you run your smooth hand on his back in massaging? (Cracking it laughey tapheys here.) Oh Lady, you are so good at massaging, i heard. hahahaaaaaaaaaaa! (Don't take it personal. I am just pulling your legs in turn.)
We need more humor here. Thanks Jambo & Omega. It is a trailblazer.
Sarcasm or harshness though is the "wit" like they said that is of the lowest humor. It is poor instinct at work without proper dispensation of a matter truthfully with the brain. Most of the times, it emanates from either embargo, jealousy, anger, hate or all combined. That makes the heart's disease. It becomes what was said here once quote: the truth.Your truth. My truth.
The nineteenth century Scottish essayist/historian Thomas Carlyle once uttered, thus: quote: "Sarcasm is the language of the devil, for which reason I have long since so good as denounced it."
I am also voting in to stay; to debate constructively and mildly-God willing as threads are mild. Those that count on my spirit of contribution, I equally count on them. Like the icon once put it:
quote: Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence on society.
Mark Twain.
In God's Hand rest our souls. If so, we say thanks to Almighty God. That God is sufficient for us.
