Discussions most welcomed

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.”

The man senghore is a contemporary giant.Thou he is a christian but ruled the predominantly muslim country. He is reputable poet in the french language whose command of the language is widely respected in france itself and he participated in drafting the constitution of the fifth republic of france( i think is the only african to have done that in the west). In addition, senghore, though a champion of negritude and african values, has been in love with the french language most of his adult life.As he himself put it:

I know that french comes after english, chinese and russian in the number of people who speak it, and it is a language of fewer countries than english. But if quantity is lacking there is quality. I am not claiming that french is superior to these languages either in beauty or in richness, but i do say that it is the supreme language of communication: "a language of politeness and honesty", a language of beauty and clarity.

Lets remember the lives of one of the greatest african and i think he was a symbol of hope and decency.
