The announcement on radio Gambia was that Daba Marena and four others were being transported from mile two (a more secured prison) to Janjangbureh (less secured prison) and the gele-gele somersaulted. Further announced that they escaped in the hands of their transporters, not even instant death.
Here are some fundamental observations or questions: (1)Why would someone being accused of an overthrow be transported from a more secured prison to a less secured prison? (2) Why were their transporters not arrested? (3) Were the transporters not armed? (4) Were they not in hand-cuffs? (5) Were the remains of the gele-gele seen? (6) Did anyone hear from them (Daba & Co) again since then?
Lets agree that none of these questions they (Jammeh’s tyranny & co-thugs) shall answer, so what can we conclude from such deceptive regimes? If you have an honest opinion, share it with us.
But reading through Baba Galleh’s “Mandela’s Other Children; Diary of an African Journalist,” it becomes a foregone conclusion on how “orders from the above” in a capricious regime spin unwisely with the pretentious cover of rendering justice for its citizens under the feett of tyranny with arrogance.
