RAmzia Diab was arrested today in Gambia among others. Any thoughts on that!??

Funny isnt it. Diab was the Lebabese face of the APRC and was nominated memeber of parliament. She mobilised the Lebabnese families to harvest corn on yaya's farm and it was shortly afterwards she became MP.
You may never know the number of arrests. God be with them all and our dear country. |

This is the apalling thing about some people. Force mobilising people to work on yaya's farm, for what. Why not mobilise to offer services at the RVH, cleaning for example.
We tread our leaders as our lords. This is why they never respect us for what we are. We must start treating them as our servants and nothing else. Come on Diab, what is responsible for the impromptu break down in your relationship with your lord. Did you miss a service? It your fault because you know he does not forgive. |

| Ministers and senior public officers buy land in Kanilai these days and they all go to Junkungs farm. It is a fact as they are paraded on TV during the harvest. Easy come easy go. This is very true.Yaya is really blessed.I will not do that for any body on earth.If I go to your farm, you must come to mine the next time or thats it never even if you are what.
I am not surprised with the arrest of Ramzia she was very instrumental in not agreeing with her APRC MPs when they decided to betray their boss(Majority Leader then)Baba Jobe who lent them all with D100,000 each.But there is still slavery in Afrca expacially Gambia.The notion of boss leads some to think leaders are not humans butAngels,Gins and Super Humans put into one.Ramzia fell off favour with the boss when she openly attended Jobe's trial despite they were told not to.Leaders hate to be disobeyed and one expects to face their anger when you do.

| i think this Ramzia is a woman who believed in the APRC when she got involved in it. shes known for speaking her mind and not butt kissing. I think she was one of the only people in the APRC who didn't walk around with a chip on her shoulder and squandered wealth. I've seen it first hand. Instead she helped a lot of underpriviledged kids with scholarships while she still lived in her dingy old house. Anyways, this ain't about what she did for people. This is about a woman who was relieved of her appointed National Assembly seat for her open support of ousted Majority leader Baba Jobe. Infact a lot of the people arrested in Gambia are arrested because of speaking openly about curruption in the current government. i mean..come on talk about freedom of speech |

Sankofa, thanks for sharing your views but just incase you didn't know (infact you didn't), Ramzia left GIA couple of years before she was working for the APRC and was never on their payroll after she left. She was infact hired to be a flight instructor for the crew on the the president's Millennium Air (unnecessary to have a 747 plane for one person ruling a tiny country if you ask me!)
I think its better not to say things about people when you actually don't know what really happened (not just in RAmzia's case). I don't mean that in a bad way. This woman did nothing for me personally but i know for a fact that prior to being relieved from her post in both the airline and parliment, she knew it was gonna happen as she was having dissagreements about how a lotta things were being dealt with in the Government. So did with Maimuna Taal of Civil Aviation.
Sankofa, i'm sure you believe in the statements you've made and i totally understand that, and might also wonder why i'm being on the defensive, but its coz when one is in a position where he/she hears things said that are so far from the truth, they feel its only right to set the record straight. I'm not saying any of these people are saints but there was absolutely not just reason for some of the arrests.
Keep em coming.

Its facinating that our government will only come with all reasons and excuses when it only serves their purpose. Yaya is making every noise because he has a special interest in this. Why did'nt he or any member of his government make any statements on the massacre of those Ghanians found mutulated in Brufut? Why is he pre-empting the judician process on this case by parading these poor guys on tv and forcing them to plead to what they have been accused of? Is our judicial system not competent enough to handle this? Why is he always despising the judician system? No body should be above the law including himself.
Why did'nt he respect the court ruling on Pa Sallah Jagne? It really pains me when this guy behaves like he is the owner of this country. He just does whatever he desires and behaves anyhow he wants. This is unacceptable and should be stopped. No body likes coups but his governance style only breeds situations like this. The kind of disgusting treatment metted out to Gambians will only fuel intentions like this. Deep down in me, I honestly do not believe that there was an attempted coup. I believe it is a subtafuge to attain eternal predency, period. This is the characteristic of a military government. Whoever is perceived as a treat is eleminated. This is how Koro Cecesy, Sadibou, the student demonstrators, Dot Faal and co and many more were annihilated. Where is the transparancy, accountability and probity he was singing about during the early days of the coup?
One thing should be clear to yaya, one day or the other he will have to leave the reigns of this nation. He should make sure when that happens, he will leave a legacy that will be remembered as one of the founding blocks of prosperity and development for the country. The country has done everything for him and the question he should ask himself is what he has done for the Gambia. In my opinion, his case is always one step forward and ten back ward. This kind of situation cannot continue. Brother, when when you point the big finger always points back at you. You better watch out for judgement day. INSHA ALLAH it will come. |

Taalibeh, i completely agree with you in that i also don't believe there was an attempted coup. I think he's just very paranoid. I was in The GAmbia during the Pa Sallah Jagne case and Lye Conteh cases. There was a lot of support for both of them which was all from APRC supporters..so Go figure! |
