it only rains a few hours a day for few days a week. sometimes there are gaps of up to two weeks!!

you dont have to worry about the rain, its not much but it gets muddy and you should take the usual malaria precautions.

i hope this helps

Hey Sis, glad to have you back

Might aswell write something now about the rainy season now.

First of all, I had about as much fun as the children there in the rain. It is an amazing natural display.
It rains a lot in the night(?)and I could not believe how cold the rain was compared to the sticky damp, hot air.Nice to take a shower if you can get privacyor just to cool down before going to bed.It takes maybe less than 10 seconds standing there and you're soaked. The amount of water falling in such a short time is huuuge.
If you have to travel it might get tricky as most roads get huge holes and water stays there(obviously only the sandy roads)and I remember our "compound"car there used to have a small swimming pool on the floor.Luckily people mostly wear flip-flopsand the children thought it was funny to have a wet floor in the car.
It was torture because that was the first time I visited Gambia, the heat was unbelievable, just moving an arm makes you sweat again, but the natural display is amazing and at least I was toughened up for it couldn't get any hotter than in the rainy season
