SUWAIBOU KABONGE JAATA RELEASED
The authorities in Banjul have released Suwaibou Kabonge Jaata, a stalwart of the Movement Democratic Forces du Casamance who was detained at the maximum-security wing of the Mile Two Central Prison. The release of the MFDC stalwart came in the wake of reports that indicate that the Wade Administration has called for the release of MFDC members held in the Gambia. Suwaibou Kabonge Jaata was arrested on Gambian soil and detained at the State Central Prison. Some Senegalese believed to be members of the MFDC were recently charged and arraigned before the Banjul Magistrates Court.
