Me and my wife are planning to visit The Gambia hopefully at the end of this year or maybe at the begining of next year. I am a citizen of The Gambia with a Green Card and my wife is a US citizen. My question is that would she need a visa to travel with me to the Gambia?

| If you have Gambian travelling document, use them in Gambia end, it will save you alot of hassle at the airport. If you produce American pass you will require to renew to status after 28days. Why not contact Gambia emabssy in DC, they am sure will be able to advise you. |

Gambian, Yeah, your wife would need a visa, now at the airport (just as Somita says) they can issue her a maximum stay of 28 days, if she decides to stay longer then, she would need to apply/request for an extension at the Immigration headquarters (Banjul). My advise would be to secure a visa here before hand, you may not want to face some possible hassle at the airport, because depending on the immigation officer's discretion, she may face some difficulties. Check out the (following) Gambian embassy website for info/applications/contact on steps to take to secure a Gambian visa for a US citizen - http://www.gambiaembassy.us/. For your case, all you need to show is your Gambian passport and you good to go.

you donīt need to go to Banjul anymore for extencion of your visa, that can be done at every police station which have immigration office, I know Kotu and Bakau has one. It doesnīt take long, few minutes, and the only question was about the reason of the visite. It costs 200 dalasi/month and you can pay for some months at the time. Itīs not difficult at all, not like the visa to U.S |
