Gambia is a third world country, but that dosn't mean that its not a great place and most of the people are super, arrivals at the airport at Yundum are essentially money on legs. MOST Gambians do not have much money,it is understandable therefore that human nature takes over, mobile phones being a case in point SIM cards are thrown away and GAMCEL or Africell cards acquired, everyone in Gambia wants a mobile phone and are prepared to pay for it to keep in touch, word of mouth information is vital to Gambians if they can make a "friend" of a tourist even better the tourist can phone them, and doubtless their lives will become easier. It appears evident that Gambians have trouble with structures involving management of employees, who are in most cases not well paid.
