I was going to comment on this piece but I am so upset at its implications that I just could'nt find the words.

"Simple is good" & I strongly dislike politics. You cannot defend the indefensible.

THIS IS SERIOUS, PLEASE EVERYONE VISIT THIS WEB SITE,

TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING TWO SENTENCES.

"Yesterday, a lady who took her tourist friend around to change some euros into dalasi was turned away from almost all the bureaus along Kairaba Avenue. Finally she was only able to get it changed at the Guaranty Trust Bank for D25. Even some of the major banks have stopped dealing in foreign exchange as they wait to make sense out of the financial turbulence.
This is quite alarming. The tourist season is just around the corner, two weeks away. If this trend continues we risk having beggar-turned tourist, with euros that are worthless or cannot be changed to dalasi. The Gambia Journal has learnt that a major tour operator My Travel is advising its customers aiming to travel to the country this season to buy the dalasi from the FOREX bureaus in Europe. Dalasi can be bought from such bureaus though one has to call and book them days in advance. Meanwhile, the hotels in the country appear to be heading for major losses. Their contracts with tour operators like The Gambia Experience, Thomas Cook, or My Travel, are quoted in foreign currencies like the euro and GBP. The appreciation of the dalasi means they will be losing up to 50% of revenues per bed or room.

So if you are traveling from Europe, check if your local FOREX bureau have dalasi for you."

Like all memebers of bantaba i am watching events closely.
