In twenty years I have not had to buy dalasi here, in fact at one time dalasi were not available in UK.
Not trusting Gatwick to have dalasi or the bureau being closed I tried seven different places today for dalasi! It appears that all outlets including the Post Office rely on the Post Office delivery for ordered currency. Well, we have a Postal strike x 5days!
The very last option My Travel has courier service – Rate 35Dalasi - £1 The rudest place Thomas Cook – insisted they have been told - you must take dollar to The Gambia!
Why dollar if dalasi is scarce?
Moneygram rate 35.34. It will be interesting to see who gets to Serrekunda first – Moneygram paying out in dalasi or My Travel – in my purse?
What an utter shambles for the ending of Ramadan…
I do hope as the tourist season begins today those unable to get dalasi protest at the gates of Kanilia! We shall see.....
