Jambo that is fine, but do you take a maleria drug aswell?
I dont like chemical sprays. I think they are not good for the immune system. So I do preventitive things like wearing trousers and long sleeves when I go out at night.
BUT I STILL TAKE MEDICATION. It is VERY expensive and adds alot to the cost of a holiday. BUT better that than get Malaria.
If you stay at the cost that is a calculated risk. But if you go inland AT ALL the risk increases. If you go to TENDABA you must be mad if you dont take medication!!! A million mossis cant be wrong!
Jambo, don't know if you've already booked your ticket for November, but www.thomsonfly.co.uk is good. I've paid 238 pounds for 27th November, this price is now more, but other dates are still available in november for the same price. I've booked accommodation separately with the dutch company Travelpoort. Palm beach hotel b&b is 200 euros for 2 people for a week and sunset & Badala are 120 euros for a week. Hope this helps.
As there is still ongoing discussion regarding travel to Gambia. For thoes that did not see my previouse posting here it is again. This does not include any recent special offers by Gambia Experience
The on going complaint is the high costs of flights/holidays to Gambia as against other similar holidays in other destinations. There are other alternatives as against the high costs of Gambia Experience and also Thomas Cook who’s fairs have risen to nearly match G. E.
As at today’s date on the internet prices quoted by Scanair.com are 326 euros to 381 euros (1.40 e=£1) return for a one week to a 2 month stay September to December as against Gambia Experience price of 420 Euros to over 840 Euros return. If you wish to change the return date costs 28 Euros against G.E price of 105 Euros The flights are from Madrid or Barcelona to Banjul. UK return fairs by budget air lines from under £100
You would have to search the Internet to get the best connection depending on what your departure UK airport is. For instance you can fly Heathrow or Gatwick by British Airways from July 07 to March 08 and with up to 19 flights a day so connection should not be a problem for £80 return Check out Cheapflights.co.uk.
You can make your flight arrangements and go on line and book the hotel of your choice on line. The first thing people look at when going on holiday is their budget. I’m sure if Gambia Experience and Thomas Cook were more realistic in their prices more people would go to Gambia to the benefit of all Gambians instead of going to better value holidays in other destinations SO SPREAD THE WORD FOR THE BENEFIT OF ALL GAMBIANS AND TOURISTS
I think connecting flights with unconnected airlines could be very stressful. Budget airlines in Uk dont always stick to schedule. Thats ok if you dont have a connecting flight. If you do they wont hold the flight for you.
Unless the saving was megga bucks I wouldnt risk it.
I would go for the cheapest direct flight from the uk. You need to look on internet shop around and see if any travel agent will do better? I have friends who have had the cheapest deal from the travel agent. I use online. Each to his or her own.
