kobo ,pa may sensasotionalise certain issues but he do report accurate news most of the times. what about the D O ,should we keep the DO honest as well ?

pa is playing his game the way he see fit ,it doesn't mean he is correct in his approach but atleast he is not an accomplish to the harsh treatment of our fellow citizen by the nia .

I have the greatest respect for Magistrate Richards,he knows what he is about, and to mislead this man would be difficult.

To be honest and in my opinion; I have not seen nothing impressive, balanced, objective reporting and professionalism under articles of Freedom Newspaper watch since Edward Singhateh's fiasco.

Some headline news and articles appear to be un-reliable, full of junk information, smearing campaign, hatred or manifestation if frustration kind of reporting.

Santanfara,
He is giving disinformation and not reporting correct news. This PA is not an honest person to himself or his country. He needs further education as a journalis.May be even a university degree to enable him to know the eticks of the trade. The behaviour of the socalled Gambian journalists is unique for only Gambia.

The print media is very new to Gambians. Throughout our evolution as a nation, we have never witnessed the current growth of media outlets. There is another aspect of print media called a Tabloid. Unless you understand the field, you cannot appreciate it.

Culturally, its strange to gambia.

Tabloids are tabloids. They serve a constituency of readers.

Thanks its a wide market and CHOICES OPEN! Courtesy of Gainako.com archives on - A YEAR IN REVIEW - Motto: Guardianship & Independence September 18th, 2007 there are food for thoughts from quotes below extracted under http://www.gainako.com/fejango/Issue~125-2007/

QUOTES:
1) "It was Gainako's objective from the onset to give equal opportunity to all and sundry who wishes to contribute to the growing debates of the political life of our nation – The Gambia regardless of their political, social and religious views. The paper was determined to put an end to CENSORSHIP in whatever nature or form they come. We believe that in this twenty first century and in the face of global integration, there cannot and must not be any form of censorship whatsoever. Freedom of expression is a natural birthright every human being should be accorded."

2) "The management of this young shepherd emphasized our moral responsibility and professional conduct we owe to society, and to our readers to uphold human decency and civility in the exchange of ideas and political debates in cyberspace. Our motto from birth was "Guardianship with the highest standard of professional journalism and responsible reporting with an open mind to continue to learn and grow as human beings."

In my view it is really hard or critical where to draw the line between CENSHORSHIP / POLITICS and MORAL ETHICS OF JOURNALISM / RESPONSIBLE REPORTING with regard to Nderry's Freedom Newpaper website on certain ISSUES, SCANDALS and ALLEGATIONS

I refer you further from Gaianko websites archives these EXCELLENT LETTERS OF FELICITATIONS FROM D.A JAWO & NDERRY on the challenges of JOURNALISM in its strive to do a good job to FORWARD THE GAMBIA OUR HOMELANDunder http://www.gainako.com/fejango/Issue~122-2007/

Finally in the words of Editors (Nderry & co.) "For any serious Organization to survive, it must have a good leadership. The Freedom Newspaper success story can be attributable to its determined editorial leadership committed to bringing you up-to-date, reliable, balanced, accurate, unbaised and objective Gambian news and elsewhere across the African continent under http://www.freedomnewspaper.com/EditorialStaff/tabid/70/Default.aspx

Thats why I expressed concern with basic standards in terms of quality, objective, balanced & reliable on certain reports, scandals and allegations from Freedom Newspaper since Edward Singhateh's fiasco.
