To assume that opposition parties could not win elections in Africa is a total myth. People of Sierra Leone in their recent elections have a case to prove opposition parties can defeat a sitting government.

It sometimes has to get worse before it gets better. I thibnk the Sierra Leoneans know what is at stake and would not like to go back to the carnage of the civil war.

“When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it--always.”

Good news, that change is possible peacefully and through the ballot box.
Worth mentioning is that Kabbah is out, the presidential election is between the vice president and the opposition.(as in Nigeria)

CNN´s “Inside Africa” has it that there are plans to start processing diamonds at home and export only finished products.
