Can anyone tell me what's wrong with Bayba money transfer? Bayba used to be spot on with their payments. These few weeks its traumatic for folks to receive their monies in The Gambia from Bayba. This problem has been reported in Banjul, WestField and Brikama. No information is coming out from the UK H/Q. If there are other reliable money transfer people let me know.

Toubab, the problems are staff lying to recipients that the transfers has not arrived yet, come later. These people will be going and coming for days especially in Banjul and Brikama. For small amounts < D1000 normally no problems. People were seen in WestField and Brikama venting out their anger and frustation at the new turn of events at Bayba. These problems were noticed in the stated outlets.

Is the contact at Islamic Bank called darboe from Gunjur?

Thanks MADIBA,for that clarification, this appears to be a case of the common Gambian illness, called, a little money used as grease works wonders on the affected parts!!

I use Western Union for money transfer. There are a lot of agents in Banjul and Serekunda and I haven´t heard of any problem so far. Money can be sent online from you computer if you pay with a credit card.

Tanx all for ur information. Wen there is variety one can't be held at ransom. Many tanx once again. I have gone online and seen moneygram being done at almost all UK Post-Offices, and Cash-Converters also act as Western Union Agents in the UK too.

Ur leads have been very helpful and i wil spread the gospel to friends who are having difficulties.

To send money online through Western Union Money Transfer is very convenient. I registered my order and had then to call their office for some identifications questions and the transfer was carried through. I then called the recipient in the Gambia to give her the ID no.
An hour later I was reported by email about the withdrawal.
