"Blame it on histroy, and be a solution". Part 1
Brother Burama Jammeh wrote a hard fact article on our national politics with historical perspective. He raised crucial issues on our Sovereignity as a political power, governance of our nation and how the position of authority has been manoeuvred by both PPP and APRC regimes.

Please follow this link (Gainako online) and lets debate.

Buba was the Youths and Sports Minister during PPP.

Santanfara,

It was the same Buba Baldeh together with certain Council of Elders who bought colanuts and visited people's homes on night trips to submit before them the desire of lieutenant Yahya Jammeh to contest elections. Following that night campaign, movement of certain people started with a message that they were appealing to Jammeh to contest the 1996 elections. It was all stage-managed and in day light, it appeared as if Chairman Jammeh was compelled to contest the elctions. Then he declared : "I accept your invitation." That was borrowed from what we are told about the PPP elders calling on David (Dawda) Jawara to serve as party leader.

So history always repeats itself but with a difference.

Then he must be a very good marketing guru. Re-packaging himself all the time.

Being a former school mate of Buba's eldest son when he was serving as sports minister and livng close to Serrekunda primary school, I will never forget when his wife sent me out of their house whilst I was waiting for his son to get ready go with him to school. The man was greedy, however, he has the most sober, modest, gentle, kind loving son which every couple will wish to have.

Please select and read the following interesting articles; related to The GRAND National Debate from SENEGAMBIA NEWS ON-LINE under http://senegambianews.com/article.cfm?articleID=1831

1) Halifa Sallah condenms Jammeh's actions (Top Related News Section)

2) The Debating Nation: Blame it on History and be a Solution - part I By Burama Jammeh (Commentary Section).

Please take note of Dbaldeh's political views on Theory Of Production as quoted from Burama Jammeh's commentary: ''The A (F) PRC is a by-product of PPP with magnification of PPP dirty tactics and the latter’s introduction to the Gambian politics – killings of perceived opponents.

We are haunted by our own history. We had opportunity with the National Convention Party (NCP), National Liberation Party (NLP) and the People’s Democratic Organization for Independence and Socialism (PDOIS) to change PPP with our own terms but we chose not to. This was because majority of Gambians said Jawara was good. Others said well his followers were bad but Sir [DK Jawara] was okay. The PPP government succeeded in deviating the debate into trivial, non-relevant issues to label members of the opposition parties as frustrated, disgruntled and jealous. This is disheartening considering the constitutional provisions for political parties and the guarantee of political rights. On July 22nd 1994, the same people were dancing and chanting that Jawara was gone. It is hard to describe such a character of people who claimed they are largely Muslims and Christians with a binding constitution to regulate and guide their common affairs. I can only blame it on history that was largely shaped by PPP.'' END OF QUOTES!
