| I think th e important thing in this article is that the soldiers are not backing Jammeh up on this. They are showing thr public that they have nothing to do with this at all. And a hidden message might be that the are also trying to tell people that Jammeh taes all the decicions on his own without any influence fron their side. This is a good start and I hope we will see more of this in the future |

I am having a big problem talking people in the Gambia. Every time my brother out side of Serekunda (especially to Niumi) I can't get him on any of his two cell phone lines. It is jus ridiculous! But you know I am not suprised by this sale. Remeber how the Lebanese association donated to Jammeh during the OAU conference in Bajul, and how Jammeh came out thanking the Lebanese for supporting him ? This is why I don not think the president should be accepting money from people and groups with special interests. |

People go to sleep. Since when have Soldiers become our spokesmen? Let them keep out of politics its not necessarily their business. I doubt the veracity as to the origins of the purported letter.
Anyway i hope that the privatization is in the best interest of The Gambia. |

A valid point, but who in the Gambian armed services would want to put their name to a critical newspaper article?

Before the advent of July 22nd, Colonel Samsudeen Sarr was very vocal with articles and poltical commentaries at the Daily Observer Newspaper. They are PROGRESSIVE GAMBIAN PATRIOTSand duty bound to partici[ate in politics IN THE INTERESTS OF THE NATION. in my opinion.
We have elites and intelligent products at the army who knew our poltics very well, why can't they participate in politics. " WE PLEDGE OUR FIRM ALLEGIANCE!" is a CRITICAL THEME in our national anthem. By the way, refer back to your comments and reconcile your thoughts; JOURNALISTS AND CIVIL SOCIETY REPS CALL FOR THE RELEASE OF CHIEF MANNEH under http://www.gambia.dk/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4063

Did you participate in the drafting of the Natonal Pledge? |

No Kons Inspired by our national anthem which I consider as the basic grammer for Gambian politics, the foundation and the basic cardinal principles defined under our constitution (irresoective of its flaws).
