You have not seen anything. Two years ago, the monthly salary of a Kenyan Member of Parliament is $5000.00 (five thousand United States Dollars) for a country known to have one of the largest slums in Africa. Obama visited one of them on his visit to Kenya.

In addition MPs were given some where in the region of US$ 15,000.00 to US$20,000.00 to buy cars which some complained as being too small to buy a descent car.Infact one of them responded saying that democracy is not cheap. Our own Gambian MPs alos kind of made similar statements during their last salary increments. US$9, 000,000.00 for 53 assistant ministers who have no work to do can better be spent in buying anti retroviral drugs to save kenyans dying of AIDS rather than looking up for aid.

This is Africa for you. Thesame scenario can be seen everywhere.Until then we will all never see peace.

Infact the new pay rates can be accessed via this kenyan blog site. Kenyan President is paid more money than the British Prime Minister
