Shaka,
This is a whole chapter. Your mention of economic tricks played by chairman JJA Jammeh is a sound conclusion. The guy opens doors to our national economy and let exploitative vampires plug their poisonous claws and fit their blood sucking jaws to drain our already sick economy. They come in different forms and seen by locals as Jammeh's efforts in attracting foreign investment. It is all fake. In 13 years all we now know is Jammeh mercilessly killing our people and killing the economy. No figure cooking by the Gambia Central Bank or the Finance Ministry is good enough to tell the true story about our economic reality. What a sad case for a drowning country !!!! |

The situation very bad But if reports frm neigbouring Senegal are anything to go by, the importers are either wrestling wit gov't to increase the fuel prices or are silenting waiting for gov't to engage them. In Senegal a week or so back have increase fuel prices and according reports on their web portal Seneweb, Senegal has the most expensive fuel prices in the sub-region?? True or false, i dnt know. I must add , the latest is that President Wade has intervened and the prices may not go up. I wont be surprised if the fuel dealers increase their prices again.
Wen two elephants fight it is the grass that suffers. Since blood thirsty BUsh and Liar Blair invaded Iraq , conseqeuntly destalising the whole region, fuel prices has never been the same again. The prices have been soaring. So small economies like The Gambia can't stand it for long and will surely burge. Ithink thats were we are today. Left to the mercy of the dealers. I dnt know wat is happening to Jammeh oil discovery |

i think this a concentrated effort to cause un rest in gambia, can peopel remember the last fule shortage, people will feeling it on the ground, bus drivers, people could nto travel to take good s to market, cooking oil prices went up, costs for basic food stuff went up, just a knock effect but it cost a lot. i stayed in senegambia during that period and bottled water doubled in price, i could afford it but the locals suffered. Definately a "ministerial person is behind this~" the police did not just decied to confiscate anything" and yes what happened to the oil discovery in Gambia

| The oil discovery is fadinf day by day, no wonder people think the president is isane, jumping from one thing to the other with little or no archiement,99 Percent electrification, operation clean the nation, operation no compromise, oil discovery, taking ownership of agric.portfolio all these end up with absolutely NOTHING,s now that he personally intervains in private sector business forcing his own prices, what should we expect from private importers? Ofcourse they are striking in a civilise manner. This will teach the govt. a lesson. |
