| A very comedious comedian ma Bro, but no relevance to our strive for development and justice. |
It is the mark of intelligence to entertain an idea without accepting it. |

| End of Jammeh's interview with Al-Jazeera, it was concluded that he (Jammeh) claims turning Gambia into Dubai but he instead made Gambia a laughing stock for the world. No doubt comedians of all make now take interest to feature Gambia. Remember this is not Made in Gambia. |

| Oh, Dear Bread man, you may be right about the statement on the youtube video, I quote: "no relevance to our strive for development and justice." But please don't ignore the uncomfortable tell the comedian is trying to put across to the world about the character behind Jammeh as our president. My brother, i think through this man the world is beginning to laugh at us (Gambians). This is what makes me sad indeed. Think about the whole saga from another perspective. |

I guess you have a point there, I hope Jammeh donīt give such interviews to foreign media again or he shoud have them heavily edited before they live the statehouse. A well noted pointed you made there, Brotherman |

Tha Ghanain lady was right. The Official name is : The Republic of The Gambia. The conventional short name is The Gambia. Gambia is not an official name. We use it at home for convenience. She is right.
There is no reasoning other than Gambia is not an official name. Its that simple. |

Santanfara,
I think it is more appropriate to use (THE GAMBIA) when refering to the country. But am afraid to be honest with you, I do not know the history behind the use of (THE) before Gambia. May be others might be interested to remark on this interesting word history you brought forword. We may as well take the point made by Kondorong as the conventional official grammatical referral name to Gambia. |
