Folks its sad, very sad indeed, infact the situation is pathetic in the Gambia. Its only in The Gambian that a fellow citizen is killed willfully and nothing absolutely comes out of it.what is the Duty of the PIU?I have witnessed so many of their operations and belive it or not the way they maltreat people even a donkey if subjects to such, it cannot stand it.once they lay hand on you their first question to you is a sharp slap to your face, a nasty kick to any part of your body or their batons will rain on you.I have known two people who are now in their Graves as result of being tortured by paramilitary personnels in the The Gambia and never recover. The theird person a youth of the same age as the deceased Minteh has gone grazy as a result of the nature of torture he got just for going to the beach and was mistaken as a bumster by the PIU Personnels. For God's sake they are human beings and Gambians for that matter. They are very young and no one knows what they will grow up to be if not killed by these bloody PIU personnels. We Gambians don't know such callous acts and it should come to an immediate halt. Some of them are very tick to the brain that they DON'T even know their job.At the first place they are NOT even allow to beat any body by the law so why should they kill? But who can we blaim for such rubbish other than The President who enacted the indemnity law to prevent them from prosecution even if they kill thousands. My heart goes out to the minteh family and friends of the poor boy.He don't really deserve such an untimely dead.

There is no egg without a chicken, and no chicken without egg.

my thoughts are with the family, incidents like this create tensions, hostility, mistrust and disorder. the area where it happened is a busy bush taxi intersection not far from bamboo corner, nothing was getting through, schools sent children home early, they marched to the police station. this was feeling of unrest that i left gambia with
