This SPIN is making a good build-up for the Kanilai Festival where no-doubt men/women & babes will flock in their thousands for a cure!
HIV/AIDS - Diabetes & Asthma, that is an awful lot of people world wide. You may need extra staffing at Banjul Airport!
The publicity could rotate in Gambia's favour for it will bring about more tv/radio coverage and could easily be used to an advantage by giving opportunity to relay to the world the real truth to what actually is going on behind the scenes of the oppressed.

When I despair, I remember that all through history the ways of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants, and murderers, and for a time they can seem invincible, but in the end they always fall. Think of it - always. (Mahatma Gandhi)

The world would be a poorer place if it was peopled by children whose parents risked nothing in the cause of social justice, for fear of personal loss. (Joe Slovo - African revolutionary)

I remember seeing Jammeh on Gambian tv giving his herbal remedy to not only HIV/Aids patients in hospital but the day before this he had given what looked like the same 'orange' liquid out of a plastic bottle to patients with other illnesses. All my Gambian friends who saw this laughed in disbelief. I never met one Gambian who believed that Jammeh could cure Aids.
What is disturbing about this is not only that it discredits herbal medicine which has and can help people in many ways (I am a believer in the use of herbal medicine ) but Jammeh is part of a conspiracy within certain African countries to try and negate the use of retrovirals because they are seen as western synthetically produced chemicals. Forget whether they work or not.
I refer to Mbeki's approach to HIV/AIDS in South Africa which put the welfare of those sufferers back years until there was an outcry from doctors/researchers and patients and he was forced to change his approach.
Then there was Jammeh and now the Ethiopian Orthodox Church in Ethiopia has embarked on a crazy mission to cure people of HIV/AIDS by throwing 'holy' 'blessed' water over them. Did anyone else see this on TV. What is again dangerous about this approach which many people seemed to be keen to take part in is that they were told to stop taking their medication. As far as I know water of any description does not cure HIV/AIDs. I am all in favour of someone coming up with a herbal remedy for these illnesses but research needs to properly conducted over a period of years and needs to be open to scrutiny.
If Jammeh had discovered a true herbal cure for HIV/AIDS he would be an even more wealthy man than he is now and seen as a saviour not a conman.

Anyway, I have now seen people who claimed to have been cured by His Excellency Doctor Alhagie Yahya A. J. J. Jammeh the President of the Republic of The Gambia. I do have confidence in him. Anyone who wants the proof, he is open and you uncover it in reality. HE Yahya has the cure and many more. Anyone with doubts, come, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.

Ebra, I can imagine that a cure or a vaccination for AIDS has been found long ago, but is withheld because the status quo is much more profitable. Not to mention HIV's value for a racist 'population policy'.

Anyway - the day Jammeh gives a scientific proof for his cure will be the day mankind praises him as the rescuer - but not one second earlier.
