AT AGE 41: WHAT NEXT ON THE SIDE OF HUMAN DEHUMANIZATION IN THE GAMBIA?
Now, Dear Countrymen, Though, at times of dead silence, the weakest point that a man can ever get based on sunnah , hadith, humbleness and the wish to wear the uniform of the fans, but one can never abandon the struggle. Like the genius of the old, Grandpa Douglas said "When there is no struggle, there is no progress." Those are lectures that Dr. Larry Pinkney, of the Panthers, inculcated in his young friends. The pen and the paper is a tool for any man to use, and this should be accompanied by wisdom of the brain. It is only on that ride, that the young fellows can emulate the styles of the beneficial. Now, Dear countrymen, I salute you all in the name of Almighty God, and secondary to touch base a little on our independence celebration this year, like the years gone, when I have been very aggressive on the side of governance, especially the Jammeh administration, that has butchered its citizens in the open. Independence by its true name means being "free" and standing on your own. An independence celebration would mean assessing the successes and failures of a nation, on that particular day that the nation gained independence. To me human civility is more important than any infrastructural development, though all of them are constituents of independence, but the former supersedes in any comparison.
Now, Dear countrymen, So far, what has we achieved? Yes, right, we have "The Gambia" as a nation, but it is only not enough for the name but we need total independence. Total independence would not mean a change from the British colonist to the hands of the dictator. This would mean The Gambia from the hands of the colonist and the dictator to the hands of the civilize, wherein peace and democracy prevails-"by the people, for the people, and of the people.” President Lincoln of America. Lincoln's tomb will be tickled, and will make a noise in laughter for so-called democracies everywhere, because the genius' thought of the matter is greater than what tyrants can comprehend, but that we don't blame any for the level of their maturity and understanding. To be fair to the retarded administrators and tyrants, it remains an opportunity for continuous learning, and for the very people abusing power, to realize and take heed in what they do, without any constitutional mandate to do so. Now, Dear Countrymen, In talking about our independence this year, I would like to ask each and every one of you- isn't peaceful co-existence more important than the material world? Isn't life more important than the material world? If the answer to the above is an emphatic yes, then fellows are we truly independent then?
So how come we will be masked, when peace is in the gutters since the dictator came into being? How come we will continue to be stripped naked on our rights as citizens? How come we will continue to be tamed like animals, where we cannot freely express ourselves because of inflicted fear? How come our media activists are at the mercy of merciless snipers, whose sole aim is to silent them? How come our political activists are at the mercy of kangaroo judges, the likes of Justice Paul? How come the civil servants cannot have a birth right, "citizenship" in full, and are n subjected to slavery or random hire and fire? How come our military is being used as a tool to demise its citizens, instead of protecting them, it is dwelling on human dehumanization through the back cover of the shameless “greenboys”? How come the ordinary farmers cannot have places to sell their produce, just because the market is not available? How come our religious elders are being insulted and threatened with removals from Imamship? How come our youths cannot have jobs, instead with labeled names by the very Gov't as "bumsters" and attaya campers? How come traditional village elders (alkalos), district elders (Seefos), Division elders (Commissioners), and city elders (Mayors) are being forced to support political parties or loose their jobs?
Furthermore, how come ex-finance minister Koro Ceesay was assassinated? How about the student martyrs of April 10th and 11th? How about Veteran journalist Deyda Hydara? How about the UDP's nightmare's encounter? How about the abuses on Waa Juwara and Syngle Nyassi? How about the famous slogan the "arrest of the Nadd three”? How about the many foiled coups, and baseless killings and maiming of Gambians? How about Jammeh's separation with his own right hand men- Buba Baldeh, Nyima Satang, Scattered Janneh, Baba Jobe, Yankuba Touray, Blaise Jagne, Samba Bah, Sanna Sabally, Sadibou Hydara, Tejan Hydara, Alimamo Manneh, Landing Sanneh, 13 Badjie, James Kujabi, Abdoulie Kujabi, Jaieh Sowe, Lalo Jaiteh, ex ambassador Essa Sey,ex-spokeman Ebou Jallow, Bakary Njie, and etc... The list continues nonstop, the first gov't of its kind in the world history. Where is independence demonstrated fellows? I am not being a sympathizer to all of these fellows, though respect the genuine among them, even though we know some to be genuine and was keeping jobs, and only their deeds will vindicate them. Credit goes to the smart ones who who realized the evilness of the dictator, and will do everything to expose him.
The remaining sideliners to the Jammeh administration, I mean the likes of Yankuba Touray, Edward Singhateh, My brother Lang Tombong Tamba, Fatoumatta Jahumpha ceesay should learn lessons from what happened to their fellows mentioned above, because tomorrow if they should part with the dictator to join us, it will take a long way to convince the people that they are not crying over loosing a job, because the simple fact is, had you not parted with jammeh or lost your job, you would have been another weed for Gambians to conquer. Needless to say, I have no disrespect to any elderly among even the ones mentioned above, except any that harmed and inflicted unfairness to their country men. Such are the ones that we will focus in assessing our independence? When will these sideliners base things on principle, and not to further engage in our country's dehumanization. When will these sidelines stay away from selfishness and personal aggrandizement?
Now, Dear Countrymen, The above is the human development, I mean negative, and we still have a man who will resolute on New Year’s Eve to kill over twenty thousand Gambians, without being accounted for his words or deeds? Are we independent at that point? Who does this leave safe? Not Gambia's citizens? Not other nationals and foreign diplomats? Not his own right hand men, like was done to Koro Ceesay? How about his presumed enemies-the critics, the opposition, the press, human right activists? How about the online writers, who he vowed to deal with?
A big shame to our members at the national assembly, whom upon hearing this cannot even raise a mumble tone, in counter of rights they swore to protect. It’s a bunch of salary collectors, should I add, more selfish and harming than the dictator himself. How can we pronounce independence, when our national assembly is a bunch of short sighted green boys gangsters, whose dance and beat tone is selfishness? That’s all the more reason why I will never be surprised over laws they vote for. Let them copy from what they are seeing happening at the congress house or in Briton.
Now, Dear Annan, Washington and London, I hope Washington and London will join Gambians, a small country of about two million to deal with Jammeh, the tyrant. I hope Annan, Washington, London and the rest of the world will stay in focus, not to force out dictators like Saddam Hussein and Charles Taylor only, but the types of Jammeh. Like He (Bush of America) said, "You are either with us or with the terrorists." It is important that the truth be told in full to the dictator, and not only your congress women and men making the noise and the next moment a fax machine is congratulating a man killing his citizens, as a way of Jammeh abusing state powers of the Gambian citizenry. If either Bush or Tony Blair should do that, already the laws will pursue them to their graveyards, never to free them. Those of us, look unto every comment that comes out from your palaces. Blair’s recent comments on the Point's news cast of February 15th 06 are hailed in the highest esteem. And we should practice what we preach. The only way for fairness is for Koffi Annan to consult his counsel, and give an ultimatum to Jammeh to hand over power, and submit himself for justice to take its course, in the light of the injustices registered since 1994. This should be done without delay, because of the repercussions thereafter, is not in the best interest of the world and Gambians. Failure to do so, only fails and betrays the hope and confidence of those you are serving. I like the stance of Mbeki, of South Africa and that of Obsanjo, of Nigeria. If Koffi Annan, Bush should complain that they don't know, we will be happy to tell you what is happening, but if you already know, and we continue to make calls to the United Nations, Congress houses, Justice Department, then join us for total redeeming of independence now.
Now, Dear friends and partners of the Gambia, We thank you for your love and continuous efforts in helping us be totally independent. In as much as you are true to us, we are true to you. In as much as humanity exists, we will all be brothers and sisters. In as much as the mouths can say thank you, we will not be shy to say that. In as much respect dictates, we will bow and eat with you. In as much God wills, we will struggle together. The truest version is to be independent, please don't sideline us or help us just because you want to put us in another form of slavery. The worst part is freedom to slavery, better suavely to freedom. Your hypocrisy will mean a lot of harm to us, we therefore plead with you to respect human decency.
Now, lo! Jammeh and all your administrators, I ask you to fear God, and respect humanity. I ask you to confess to Gambians the evils you committed and summit yourself for justice to preside over you. I ask you to think over your actions selflessly, and know very well that your efforts to enslave us will never materialize. I advice you to ponder about when you die; only your deeds will be with you in the grave. Even if what you believe in is your jalangs, then for certainty you know your throne stays behind when you die. I ask you to respect human rights and your critics, whom you have deprived of their rights. I ask you not to abuse state power, and for certainty your administration is illegal, and you rose to the throne illegally. I ask you to learn from what happened to the pharaoh, and the great Hussein of Iraq, Taylor of Liberia, and the many others that are well known to you.
In your message to Gambians on Independence Day, we would like you to announce to us who you delegated to kill Deyda, Koro Cessay, and our brothers and sisters on April 10th and 11th. We also would like to hear a special announcement of you leaving the nation to be independent without your terrolistic activities. We would also like to hear you leaving statehouse and submitting yourself for the injustices you committed, as a way of mercy and forgiveness from Gambians to you. We would also like to hear you asking Gambians, ranging from the ordinary, the media, political and human rights activists, whom you abused and wronged beyond doubt that you will leave them to be free. We also like you to remove your hands from using the Gambian military as a tool for your terrolistic aggrandizement. We would also like you to free the civil servants, whom you tamed by your random hire and fire, baseless accusations, arrestations and silly maiming. We would also like you to tell us about the state coffers that you are abusing, by that we mean true transparency.
Until then Jammeh, you will never be able to convince the likes of Dalton that you are a patriot. If any should know you like I do, even though I’ve never been your associate, that the world will all rise up to have you out by hook or Crooke. That any means to have you out, i support. With certainty, my stance is based on your deeds. If by chance, in a life time you happen to lay hands on my soul, as God may destine, please I ask you not to jail or arrest me, but that you end my life with one single bullet, that I join Deyda in peace. I pray in Almighty's name to die a martyr, but not in the hands of Jammeh (the idolater), and I pray for all Gambians to be free from that nightmare.
Finally, Dear Gambians, I thank you all for your patience and efforts to redeem our nation, and that the good news is "hope is on the way.” Senator Kerry. Don't loose hope, and don't be distracted by little happenings. Unite under one umbrella, and redeem your nation with true vision for true redeeming of true independence. Every one should certainly know that the Gambia belongs to all of us, and that Halifa's words "citizenship cannot be an accident." is true and real. As at this time, we cannot pronounce true independence, with all that we've seen happening time and again, but tyrants are fake, and civility is real and noble. Whatever it takes, whenever it ends, we are ready to journey until death do we abandon the struggle, in Almighty's true guidance. The test of sufferation shouldn't be interpreted as a curse, rather a test that we are ready to shoulder and pass, and where we stumble and die, then successors will continue the struggle.
"Darkness cannot drive darkness; Only light can do that. Hate cannot drivee out hate;Only love can do that. ", Dr. Martin Lurther King jr. I wish all Gambians at home and abroad a happy independence anniverssary, hoping the coming day will bring light in the minds of horrible administrators, that they resolute on that day for the better.
