Flimsy clothing was already worn in the old, black and white movies in the 40s and 50s. Sex sells, didn't you know? All kinds of products are advertised while flimsily clothed women are showing them. I am sure it was originally thought out by men.

Nowadays? Yes, it might have to do with women's lib. Beautiful young women are proud of their bodies. This doesn't mean that they have to dress indecently, and intelligent women will know what to wear on which occasion. Sometimes it seems a bit unpractical: i see my young students in their very short shirts, and when they lift an arm to raise a question i can see their belly buttons (sometimes with a small piercing), i always ask them if they aren't feeling cold.
When you get my age, you'd rather show down instead of show off.

Why were you asking this question?

Gauzy dressing is just to attracts eminently for men's world,
which some time gets devious adumbration,
that is why i view it as corruptive for them.

Best keep it covered up!

thanks anna , the reason i ask the question was as a result one of my friend from Cameroon .he is the president of the cameroon organisation of britain . this guy also seat on the board of choosing the miss cameroon beauty pergeant competition . he told me he finds it difficult to select prospective candidates because most of young ladies dress in flemsy cloths . he said some will do every thing to get selected even flirting with him . i told him to let ladies select the prospective candidates instead of a married man . he refuse that suggestion . he also confide to me that some of the temtation are unresistable . this is preesure he said . but he wants to sleep with this ladies . so i wonder why wear flemsy cloths for pergeant competiton .

????
Pageant competitions (i suppose you mean beauty contests) are about beauty of the body, so it seems logical that you show how beautiful your body is so you don't cover your body. Right?

It is not a subject i am interested in (best i can do is enter a contest for 'most attractive and energetic granny'), but i could imagine a jury half women/half men would be good. Men will certainly tend to look at other 'good points' than women do, if you know what i mean.

So your friend says the temptation is too much? Really?? And now he wants to sleep with the ladies (not all of them, i hope). Well, that is his problem and now you will have to talk him out of it. Good luck!! I just hope you (and he) will not blame the ladies for his wicked thoughts just because they wear flimsy clothing. It is just his own weak character, even though he is president of the Cameroon organisation in Britain. Tell your friend to be strong and to love his wife.

well mbye what age is a sugar dady ? my friend is only 45 . the ladies are all of mature age . it is wrong for men to seat down judging women on how they look ,but to some it is a profession i guess . there is a debate going on here in england about size zero .whatever that is i have no idea.

Santanfara, happy to make you laugh. Laughing is good for your health, it should not kill you though. Like Lily said - the debate about size zero is about the role-model these professional models have: most of them are way too thin, which sets a bad example. Young women/girls try to be so thin that this will jeopardize their health. I read the other day that 1 out of 6 young woman with anorexia (eating disorder where you cannot take any food, or if you took some you will make yourself vomit again) will die. So we can conclude that all these beauty-contests and modelling are good for nothing and nobody: your friend is confused (keep an eye on him) and young girls are starving themselves to death in order to meet the 'beauty-standards'.
