The world would be a poorer place if it was peopled by children whose parents risked nothing in the cause of social justice, for fear of personal loss. (Joe Slovo - African revolutionary)

Interesting report. Universal education of all sexes up until the age of 18 is needed to give these youngster more choices in life. There needs to be attitudinal change where it comes to the exploitation of children from more prominent figures in society. Motels and hotels should be frequently checked for illegal activities. More public education and the use of GRTS for this purpose should be exploited to educate the public about the risks of the children from sexual exploitation, and more penalties brought in for parents and carers who encourage the sexual exploitation of their children. Issues of peer pressure surrounding bling, designer gear and global enticement of material goods need to be subject of debate. Is it really worth selling your soul to compete with celebrities in music video? Teachers who engage in sexual exploitation should be sacked, and a system of police checks brought in to eradicate pedophiles from working with children. The same goes for the authorities to have access to western pedophile registers to monitor visitors entering the country. Children should be encouraged to report sexual abuse, and educated on ways to keep themselves safe.

The government has brought in certain measures identified by the report already which is positive but more still needs to be done to clean up the sex tourist industry, and to challenge attitudes for sex for favours by both male and female Gambians. Especially in a climate of silence, which enables sexual exploitation of minors to continue.
A debate surrounding sexual education needs to continue. And greater emphasis placed on informing the public on STD's and HIV/AIDs prevention. Coupled, with the predator mentality of Sugar Daddies, and Mafia Pa's to stop them from luring children into sexual activity, and denying them their childhood. Also an age limit on children allowed, to perform, and work in hotels, motels, holiday homes etc.
