By Momodou Justice Darboe

A Faji Kunda-based business magnate, Momodou Turo Darboe, has, true to his tradition, made yet another significant contribution to the maintenance of security in the country and has in fact pointed out the need for all hands to be put on deck for the realisation of this noble objective.Described by the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Abou Njie, as not a surprise but timely, and Police Commissioner Babucarr Sowe as a gesture worth emulating, Mr Darboe on Friday made a handsome donation of items worth over D300,000 to The Gambia Police Force. He did not stop there. Darboe has also alongside his business associate, Muhammed Suleiman, presented two cheques of various amounts as contribution to the police clinic and the NIA Bundung branch. In a succinct but very articulate speech at the presentation ceremony of Mr Darboe’s largesse, DIG Abou Njie said Mr Darboe’s ‘latest gesture’ was not a surprise to the police.

“You’ve been assisting the police for quite a while. This gesture is timely and we appreciate it,” DIG Njie said.

For his part, Commissioner Sowe, recognising Mr Darboe’s support to the maintenance of national security, described him as a friend of the police.
“You and your partner are friends of the police and you do not forget us for a minute,” he enthused.

Mr Momodou Turo Darboe, for his part, said that he derives a great deal of satisfaction in assisting the police in whatever way he can.
He therefore urged other businessmen to follow suit.

Any Gambian people know anything about this, published in the Point today????.......Whats in it for Turo Darboe???....Is he related to the author??????.
