His father says he wanted good future of his son,but that
Madonna to help himself that is up to her.how ever did you get it that she is helping another children's, and if something has gone wrong by the official side then where you do believe is the liability.Africa have they rules -justice but if they didn't sticks to it like here in the West then one should not wounder if the world laughs at us.Why not let the lady alone. Instead of driving her off .why not there be more like her. And why this all entire media disturbance&Bala Bala buhuu on her or the family of the boy just because she is supper star and that just that the baby is coming from Africa? they should comment and report more of the negative situations this family and more alike are living in Africa but instead of that they are chewing her away so that the others who may are trying to follow her foot steps been scared!the entire from the medians is nothing but rubbish they just wanted to hit the record summe again because she is super star and this boys is an African child!.

I find it quite sickening.

The new fashion is adopting a child.

A few months ago it was miniture dogs.

If Madonna was so keen to help why didnt she inject money into the community, I think i read that she bought the child a rocking horse for £5000. Think what that money alone could of done for many children.

This child is not even an orphan.

What do you think Madonas motives were?

mbay, consider this
do you think that this is not a dangerous precedence, even if she wasn't famous forget that for a minute. If a person can go there and want to adopt a child and offer a large amount of money and they say yes, what is that "SLAVERY", CHILD ABUSE. YOU NAME IT.
take madonna out of the picture, yes she has offered the child a home, but she could have offered help to the father, $2 million to the orphanage, you can guess which official will get that money.
Madonna has admitted she made up the laws, with the help of officials about the adoption as she went along.
How sad,

Gambiabev, I think her main motive is PR.

Though its looks as if this coup backfired, it gave her back the center stage position. To be controversial was never a problem for her; it was and is part of her persona.

I definitively agreed in some of your topics but Malawian has no rule? Most of we African are after only material including some of our officials and the west knows it. But who have to answer to that?

To me the father seemed hapy to pass responsiblity for his child over to someone else. Who that someone is doesnt really matter. It was someone white, from the west offering his child a 'better life.'
The rules should be applied to everyone the same. That being done, if the family is happy the child should be allowed to go. But it will always be more life fostering than adopting. You act as a guardian to the child for its education in the west. The family will want to see the child and have a say in its upbringing in most African cases.
There is a child in Pirang I have mentioned many times before. Her mother asks me to take her every time I visit. In a couple of years time I might be able to do it. Is this BAD or GOOD for the child? Most people on Bantaba seem to think it is bad. But if you do it with good intent and raise the child well, why is that a bad thing?
I think Madonna seems genuinely shocked that something done with good motives and good heart as been seen so negatively.
Jambo, your venom on this subject surprises me. You seem to want to help in Gambia and help the children. Adopting a child is the next step. A further commitment.

mbay if that is the case, then countries have to accept the criticism, secondly they cannot look to other continents when things go bad.
If malawi blames colonialism for the lack of adoption rules in their country they are stupid.
African officals are not stupid, greed plays a big factor in this, they are not poor, but Davids family is.
Again i say $2million to one orphanage
the reason that the government is running scared is because they accepted payment for an african child that is a fact.
When Angelian Jolie adopted her child they did an interview and told where the money went and when, it has not reached the projects yet, it is an a bank account African officals are to blame for this situation, it is not the first time that they have got it wrong, but what publicity

bev, bev, not against adopting, against the payment and rushing through the adoption process,
If you went to malawi you could not get a child, go with a cheque you get a child, rules are bent.
BEV, i do not seem to want to help africa, but am helping africa thank you very much, watch what you say
secondly is adoption and being taken to another country always the best for a child, what about helping the village, extended family to keep the child.
"There is a child in Pirang I have mentioned many times before. Her mother asks me to take her every time I visit. In a couple of years time I might be able to do it." Is this BAD or GOOD for the child? Most people on Bantaba seem to think it is bad. But if you do it with good intent and raise the child well, why is that a bad thing?

It is not bad to adopt, but it is bad to pay, MONEY CHANGED HANDS or did you miss that.
are you helping the family in pirang with anything so that they do not feel like that they have to offer the child away in order to give her a better life.
WHAT STOPPED YOU.
"Jambo, your venom on this subject surprises me. You seem to want to help in Gambia and help the children. Adopting a child is the next step. A further commitment", Adopting a child is a commitment but it is not the only one. YOU THINK ABOUT IT, she never helped his father, why not. she could have afforded, who told the press SHE DID why publicity GET REAL AND LOOK AT THE FACTS OF THIS CASE AND DEAL WITH ON THE INDIVIDUAL MERIT. appearing on the oprah show, what nonsense, in tears, rubbish, ANGELINA JOLIE just got on with her adoption, other celebraties have done the same.
Malawian officials have to be accountable for this child. I AM NOT HAPY WITH YOUR COMMENTS BEV, NOT HAPPY AT ALL, YOU SPEAK WITH A FORKED TONGUE.

Our former Chancellor Gerhard Schröder adopted two children from Russian orphanages. He and his wife heard the same accusations like Madonna. But they did both adoptions silently, without any PR ado. It took months until the public noticed the first adoption.

This is a significant difference to Madonna's case, because as far as I know she went to Malawi with a big entourage of photographers etc. so that everybody would know her 'generosity'.

Jambo I dont understand what you mean by I speak with forked tongue.
I think I am always consistent and open.
What has stopped me so far from bringing the girl to england is her young age, she is 3. I am waiting until she is older so she can have a sayin the matter. I thought around 8 or 9 so she could settle with the local children before secondary school. I also do have serious questions about what is best for her, to stay in Pirang or come to england. I only want what is best for her future.

bev, your comments, " Jambo, your venom on this subject surprises me. You seem to want to help in Gambia and help the children. Adopting a child is the next step. A further commitment", why are you surprised that i would be against this, it is not the adoption, secondly explain "seem to want" I am helping.
Adopting a child does not always help the country, helping the family and supporting the child is the next step, taking a child away is not always the answer. I have europeans who take african children to european, they are loved like their own, but when they go back they are normal out of synch, NOT ALWAYS, but they miss out on traditions, language, atmosphere, yes adopt a child, but do not say it is for the best of the country.
more support for infra structure, less corruption, better wages and other things would help the country.
I too have thought of adopting and it would be easy for me to find achild, but the two children i have in mind one 14 and the 8 will beocme to the UK for the senior education when they are 16, for me they will understand what is going on. right now they are in good schools and being supported. I helped on mother get amarket stall, another sells vegatables near senegambia.
Leave yur child in Pirang, support her there, take them things to sell pay for a stall or something, 3 is too young.
