By Gainako
Do you have to be from the same geographical area or race to mourn someone ?
Australian Steve, famously and fondly known as "crocodile hunter" recently died after an encounter in his usual exploration of life in the waters.
Gainako is a fan of Steve. Having followed most of Steve's documentaries-cable TV channel 56, the man's contribution to our universe cannot be underestimated. The archrives of this forum, will definately have me in records for mourning a world icon who demonstrated real love for the animal species.
Steve died a real man, and the sea animal that gave him shock on the heart committed a murder, though without knowledge of who was riding side by side. A wrong man at the wrong place, and at the wrong time. Steve is no enermy to the animal species. It is remembered well his last baby's christening was criticised by the child safety, who sued him after he openly played with a crocodile, while his baby was on the other hand.
If what men believe should end their lives, then such fellows are not only patriots, but living guidance to humanity. Though Gainako can forgive the likes of animals taking the caliber of Steve, but will never forget. If the killer to steve was a human, nothing would have stopped us from campaigning for an avenge.
Steve, RIP. Though Gone, memories lingers. Your works shall ever be fresh. Your journey was very useful. Though we will miss you, Your animals will miss you more. We are grateful fans, Who will remember and pray for you. Your exploration was never selfish, And you died the man you told us you were. The world without you, Will be lonely years for the animals, That you loved, and cared for.
Now that you are gone, Rest in peace !!!!!!
A Fan to "Crocodile hunter"

I think he was just... crazy.
Honestly, I wasn´t very surprised to hear he passed away yesterday, more surprised that he lived to be 44. I mean, he was playing with death all the time with those crocs and snakes.
But may he rest in peace in his reptile heaven. |

I have always been a bit confused about the crocodiles in The Gambia, particularly those in Katchikally in Bakau. Once, when I was there I was told that it´s completely safe to walk around them and even touch them. So that is what I did, I patted some of them on the head. By mistake I trod a croc on his foot and a bit scared I jumped away. The animal didn´t move, he just watched me with his left eye. Afterwards I thought it might not be so safe as I was told, wouldn´t do it again. What species do they belong - Nile crocodiles are known as man eaters. Why are they so lazy and friendly? Because they were fed just before? Or, as a legend says, they have been living among people for 90 years…. Another story I was told is that one day one of the crocodiles run away. The day after he was found behind the stadium. They tied a rope around his body and walked him back all the way.

Crocidile Hunter will definitely be missed. I agree with Babylon that he was lucky to live for 44 years. Steve played with death but was not invincible. He will be remembered as a Crocodile Hunter with a rare gift of communication with our reptilian friends. It is just pity Steve could not translate it to our marine buddies. Jokes aside Steve enthusiasm for crocs will leave a void in his field for sometime to come.
May he rest in peace

Steve our croc hunter is alive in the voices of so many children who returned to school today. You will be sadly missed, not only by adults, but by the childrens, children - you have left a very large vacuum. There will only be one 'crazy croc hunter with such charisma'and you managed to outwit them all! Rest in perfect peace. sab. |
The world would be a poorer place if it was peopled by children whose parents risked nothing in the cause of social justice, for fear of personal loss. (Joe Slovo - African revolutionary) |

What? He has done the dare nots "playing death" and was inspirational, gifted to understand nature, adapt to living with other dreadful species and heroic. R.I.P |
