We all know that Jammeh is not safe on his trone. However, it is also the case that none of his henchmen are safe either. Those who fall fastest are those in higher possitions. SO it seems that next in line to tumble is Edward, Peter, Yanks FJC and Lang Tamba. It is just a matter of time but like i said before they are a pack of hyneas and none is safe. If what was attributed to Bajinka's brother is true then it is kind of sad. No grown man want to be said to be crying. It is also understandable that he will say he has no problem with President Jammeh. His brothers are hostage but if someeone orders the arrest of my brothers unjustly, i will definately have serious problems with you. Again if this is true, it will put to rest all those who were ready to chastise PA Nderry even though the article first appeared on Ebrima Sankarehs page. It also teaches us an important lesson. That is that we always need to give these stories enough time to be varified rather than jump on it one way or the other.

KJ, It seems you were reading my mind for the case of Lang Tombong. That's my real brother and i love him so much. When i was young, he've always given me tomoatoes-raw ones. He used to sell big tomatoes. The nice soccer player he was too. I remember running away from him always, and when he started giving me tomatoes, i became a young friend. My mum did always remind me of it. Another guy among my loved ones, Dr. Karamo Sonko, whose family my mum loved so much during all the trials and tribulations they went through in that village. I just wish that Lang Tombong can distant himself from this whole thing. This piece is not to make lang Tombong a clean man for those that think he harmed Gambians.
I agree that stories need to be well verified. At first, there seem to be someone supplying false news, but i was able verify and sit on my tail without saying a word. For fact, i was talking to someone who was communicating with Major Bajinka in Nigeria-name withheld. When the latest incident happened, after Sankareh tipped of it, i utilized the chance to call his younger brother, who is also a neighbour of mine here. Once i verified it, it was enough to make it a breaking news story. I wish he [Bajinka] took heed to demands by his loved ones, all those that asked him not go back to the Gambia. |

Dalton, see below: Banjul, July 30 The Gambia Journal
Reliable sources have said that escaped military officer Major Bajinka has been calling from Dakar, Senegal. Major Bajinka escaped attempts to arrest him by NIA(National Intelligence Agency) officers about a week ago and was being hunted by some members of the security forces. The attempt to arrest the former Aide de camp and commander of the State House Guards came shortly after his return from a year-long officers’ course in Nigeria. It is not known what Major Bajinka was being wanted for but many suspect it had to do with the foiled March 21st alleged coup attempt. The Senegalese capital is now a place of refuge for scores of people, including top former military officers, journalists and politicians, who were able to escape from The Gambia for one reason or the other reason, real or imagined, conjured up by an increasingly paranoid and repressive regime. The reports of the Major’s presence in the Senegalese capital will bring a sigh of relief to many who feared he might have gone the same way as those of the supposedly escaped Daba Marenah, former NIA boss, and four other security officers
