THE AFRICAN DILEMMA Although Africa is the most endowed in terms of natural human resources that significantly qualifies Africa to be the richest continent in the world, yet still Africans remain the most wretched and the poorest, on the face of the earth. Since the days of slavery, Africans have been continually robbed of their wealth. When machines were introduced or invented, human (slave) power was the driving force behind the industries of the West. Africans have to realise that capitalism benefits only the industrialised nations. How many billions of pounds in foreign currency are spent on the importation of Western industrial products, which are transformed raw materials from Africa? The dependence on Western industrial products is not taking us (Africans) anywhere. What happens nowadays conveys to Africans that we have to take up a U-turn and work for our own betterment.
